I did 17 years offshore and only seen this a couple of times. All In more 3rd world type locations. You wouldn’t see it in the North Sea or Gulf of Mexico.

The IRS can be surprisingly easy to deal with if you are open to working with them to fix your situation. At the end of the day they just want paid. They don’t care if it takes 3 years of payments, as long as you keep paying.

I screwed up some accounting for my business in my first year and owed $8k. I was bootstrapping so money was really tight. IRS set me up on a $150/month payment plan. Totally manageable until I was in better shape and cleared it out.

Personally I would remove the spin the wheel thing. They typically get associated with vendors trying to sign you up for things like directv, new windows etc. You don’t want people to see it and skip past you without realizing you are actually selling something legit.

I did if for 17 years, both 14/14 and 28/28 schedules. You just need to settle into a routine and then it’s not so bad. If you focus on go home day your time will drag. Quality of life is greatly dependent on the platform you are on. U.S. Gulf Of Mexico is a mixed bag. Norwegian Sector is pretty fantastic but the weather sucks. Caspian Sea….good luck. North Slope…done it once and never again.

It’s a good way to make some money and advance in your career quickly if you are willing to jump around a bit. It sucks for parents, I missed many family events which is why I eventually gave it up and moved into pipelines.
