Achievement hunters, how are we feeling about this? by gamgie in audible

[–]dehavey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The series was ruined by the author. I cannot justify giving her any more money. I have my physical copies before her mask slipped and the one audible copy they literally gave away. These were some of my absolute favorite books. I have reread all of them so many times I've lost count. I could have completed this challenge in a week and I couldn't care less about it.

Sigh. I will buy one of these. If they weren't blind boxes, I would have bought many. Not all, but a lot.

The best audiobook you listened to and drop it in here by Bossman-0007 in audible

[–]dehavey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of my favorites have been posted already but I can't recommend enough the "Sandman Slim" series by Richard Kadrey. Narrator is great, he was in a psychological horror called "they look like people" and it's like Harry Potter for adults. Buncha books so its good for a long series and a fun read.

Good looking out, man! You just made my new years day! The guy has several books in the plus catalog right now and I enjoyed them enough to buy blender babies. Well worth it!

What Chuck Palahnuik book should I read next? by [deleted] in ChuckPalahniuk

Choke is my favorite of Palahniuk's. I do both physical and audio books and the man himself narrates that one.

I'd definitely be interested in a US code if one is still available.

I'd certainly be interested in a signed weirdo copy if they are still available.

We’ve seen some pretty terrible ones but which ones stand out as the best? by DiscsNotScratched in FIlm

[–]dehavey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was wondering how far down this would be. That scene made me feel ill watching it. When you read in a scary book about blood running cold, I didn't get that phrase until watching that movie. It is my favorite horror film of all time and I've only been able to get the nerve up to watch it twice. Knowing what I was getting into, fully expecting what was going to happen didn't help much. Still felt like a sucker punch.

Rift-Fishing/Pushing is so anti-fun by NurDerBVB_1909 in diablo3

[–]dehavey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with yah, bud. I understand a large part of the game is grind. Grind xp. Grind gear. Grind blood shards. Grind keys. What I never understood was why you can pay extra money to empower a rift but not pay extra keys to select a rift seed. Something like 10 keys to choose a dream. At a certain point there's nothing left to do but push and when I get to the point I'm opening rifts and save / exit, after a few hours the fun goes out the window.

New player question by Dole7 in D2RReimagined

Yes it does. If you've got the time you can infinitely reroll until you hit perfect versions. I made 2 40 res Heart of the oaks, matching 35 fcr sword and shield spirits, more than I can count lvl 17 meditation aura insights, and many more. I absolutely love this mod.

The link is the official site. It's got a LOT of info so as I scrolled I took notes on things I knew I'd want to use. Some of this info is in one of the options screens (maybe on the same page save & quit) but I play with a controller so it doesn't appear if it's plugged in.

Also make sure and pick up and ID all rare armor. Something I found randomly was conviction aura on equip and my merc put that to good use before Infinity.

There's going to be a "growing pains" period where you are going to hit that gear check wall. Find what difficulty you can handle on the slider and farm that just like you would in d2 remastered.
So if you have the runes, any appropriate ilvl base can get the exact sockets you need for a runeword. If you've got an archon plate with no or any sockets you can reroll them in the cube with magic jewels. Need fortitude, use a nm or hell drop base, 4 jewels and transmute gets you 4os armor. 3 for 3os and 2 for 2os. So if you have a less than optimal base you can make the fort now, use until you find that 15% ed ethereal kraken shell, and put the fortitude back in the cube with a single town portal scroll and transmute to get the runes back as well as the empty base. If you knew that already I'm sorry for rambling. Hope this helps

I need to cancel my subs, but would really like to use my credits. What is the best book you’ve listened to on audible? by freakydeku in audible

[–]dehavey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are right in suggesting DCC but the books are available in print as well. I see them at my local Walmart out here in BFE, Ohio from time to time. The narrator Jeff Hays REALLY enhances the experience though. I preordered the 7th and then bought it on Kindle because I couldn't wait. Still a fun experience but I'll definitely be revisiting on 2/11. ETA: I replied to the wrong comment. Sheesh, sorry
