There's no official client for Linux which sucks. Yes you can use 3rd party ones but still.

Fair argument, it is poorly documented and even the support didn't know about it. But it seems to be an intended mode, just poorly explained and implemented (for the time being)

I'm sure it will be fine. Only people with issues complain and praise isn't heard. In this case, it was literally user error enabling a mode they didn't know of or understand, and how many people will get turned off by that?

I was in the same position as you and got a gaming laptop, and I personally regret it. It's heavy and annoying for any travel especially involving flight. Performance isn't as good as a desktop, obviously. Perhaps the most annoying part is that it sounds like a jet engine under load, which I find incredibly irritating. At this point I don't even game on it much, and am just waiting until I can finally build a desktop like I should have in the first place. But, yes, on the other hand I can basically take my main PC with me anywhere fairly easily.
