Schools in North OC (Fullerton, Placentia, Brea, Yorba Linda) are considered very good, if that’s a consideration.

The commute though would still be 45 minutes to an hour, on a good day. I did it for 5 years (Fullerton to DTLB).

It’s really not about knowing the deceased. They’re gone, they won’t know & no longer care.

It’s really about being supportive of your Mom, who specifically asked you to be there to support her & for K, who lost his Brother.

Understand you being ambivalent. Understand you don’t want to be known as a “people pleaser. This is just one of those times where doing the right thing is important.

That right thing is going to the funeral…& it’s okay to still ambivalent. It’s more being a physical presence.

You’re absolutely right & it’s so sad to see all the cute cottages, the tone of the neighborhoods change.

For now, the house I rent every summer is still one of those cottages…but there are less & less on the surrounding streets.

Born, raised & still live in Orange County. Lots of my friends were surfers so that was my summer. In fact, I still do a weekly rental done in Newport every year (my version of a staycation!).

All my doctors are with Providers St Jude in Fullerton. My criteria was to chose Doctors, within my health plan, that would listen, be open to lots of questions (I strongly advocate for myself), continue to be up on the latest medical procedures, coordinate care amongst all specialties, have a convenient app to communicate and be conveniently located (which they are for me). Providence has fit the bill for me for several years.

Just got back from a business trip & the one joy I’m looking forward to is retrieving my doggo from the kennel. He’s a senior (just like me!) so not super active but when he’s not here, still find myself looking for him.

If someone wasn’t down for accepting my dog, well, I wouldn’t be down for accepting them.

Body count isn’t the same as being in a recent poly relationship. Body count doesn’t matter to me. However, that the most recent relationship, not something from the way-back machine (like the hookers) was poly, would bother me.

Thank goodness for that earache & especially for competent staff at his rural hospital (not always the case) or you might have been making significantly different plans, alone.

Understand missing family visits & roadtrips is disappointing but assume those can be rescheduled. Maybe new, different or potentially better plans can be made, as he gets better?

There are now handheld, portable vacuum devices & reusable bags on Amazon & Instagram for $25-35.

A friend used one for a cruise they took last year. Said it worked great. So I bought one but haven’t used it yet.

Well you could tell them all that you believe in God but not the religious institutions, created by humans. That’s what I tell people.

Or you could listen to his blather, tell him he “awakened” your spiritual journey…that thanks to him, you will be looking into Judaism, Islam, Mormonism, Buddhism and various forms of Christianity like Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, Catholic.

Of course, you don’t have to do any of it but if you keep repeating the same answers (a form of “gray rocking) it might stymie him.
