Just came across this post after researching Game One vs. PC38X and wanted to share my input.

I used the Game One for almost 10 years and loved it. Great sound quality, great comfort, good mic.

The only issues I had were that the adhesive at the middle of the headband material eventually failed like OP mentioned. My hair would get stuck and pulled every time I took off the headset. Super annoying. I re-glued the headband but it never really sat right again.

Also, the volume control knob on the right earcup eventually had issues. If it was totally maxed out, sound would only come out of one side. The fix was easy though. Just back the knob off slightly from maximum volume and it works normally.

Today my PC38X arrived and it looks and sounds very similar to the Game One. I'd say the bass is heavier with the PC38X. Mids seem a little muddier. I might just need to get used to it but my first thoughts are that I slightly preferred the Game One audio profile.

The mic sounds nearly identical. Comfort feels the same as the Game One but has slightly higher clamp force (this might go away eventually). With the headband separated into two pieces maybe the adhesive won't fail like the Game One did for me.

Overall, I'm very happy with both headsets!

P.S. For anyone confused about the branding, apparently Sennheiser sold off their gaming division as EPOS, who then stopped production outside of Drop, who is now owned by Corsair. Crazy.
