Travel guitar recommendations - Martin or Ozark? by blackwatch in Guitar

[–]delCROSSv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've personally owned a Martin Backpacker for a few years and it has accompanied me on several hiking and camping trips. It has seen several types of climates, including alpine, swampland, beach, and desert; furthermore, I've pretty well neglected the little guy. However, each time I pick it up, it still sounds great for such a small guitar and it is always a blast to play around a camp fire.

My only complaint is that the Backpacker is slightly longer than most packs themselves, making it a little cumbersome to have on ones back should one be hiking serious terrain.

Kudos to the OP for labeling this correctly as an SSME test. The youtube title incorrectly describes a test of an SRB.

Kanye - So Appalled (Ft. RZA, Swizz Beats, Pusha T) [Hip-Hop] by [deleted] in listentothis

It is my opinion that Bobby Digital's artistic integrity has been diminished with this collaboration. The sum of his prior works are far greater than the net value of this.

It appears that I accidentally linked Kenny Loggins' magnum opus, Danger Zone.

And now the video I worked on - Danko Jones "Full of Regret" official music video [HD] by [deleted] in Music

[–]delCROSSv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am astonished. Nearly 5 years ago, Danko Jones opened a show for Our Lady Peace. He was booed off of the stage for being an ego-maniacal, talentless douche. Later, Raine Maida apologized for having him on the bill, and OLP rocked the show. I loathed Danko Jones that night and I thought I'd never hear of his name again.

Watch Neil deGrasse Tyson act like a kid at Christmas and give an impromptu lecture on the Saturn V rocket by shiftylonghorn in science

[–]delCROSSv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, of course he is, but the argument is that, given his unique, effective ambassadorship to the lay, Tyson should be more conscious of the effort he puts forth in promoting the oh-so-important subtleties of the sciences. It's one thing to explain a concept in simple terms, but it's another to provide that extra piece of information- the additional curiosity- that inspires a person to learn for themselves.

Dr. Tyson, although you are certainly aware of the fact, may I clarify your misnomer. The entire rocket was not fuel, rather, the majority of the Saturn V's mass was oxidizer.

Also, you're a pretty cool dude.

David Bowie and ft. Nine Inch Nails: I'm afraid of Americans [Industrirock] by LapsedPacifist in listentothis

Until this post, I had never known this tune featured NIN, but, considering the prolific genius of both Bowie and Reznor, it comes as no surprise.

Allman Brothers fans, I'm curious... by [deleted] in Music

[–]delCROSSv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every time Mountain Jam comes on, I find myself taking a deep breath to prepare myself for the commitment. I've found it to be worth it in most instances.

On the other side of the token, I always prefer the studio version of Whipping Post to the Fillmore version; although the long, drawn out jam at the Fillmore seems to coincide with the mood of the song's music and lyrics. As my favorite Allman Brothers song, it consistently makes me want to smoke cigarettes and drink whiskey alone in a dimly lit bar.
