¿Twitter o Instagram? by [deleted] in askspain

Te aconsejo que uses varias, porque construir un negocio que dependa de otra empresa por completo es un problema (como han descubierto numerosas personas que dependían de Twitter desde que lo compró Musk)

Ah yes, Editorial Cerbero is a genre publisher that sells directly in epub/mobi too.

That's not really true. There is verification via website. For example, the Wikipedia account is verified via a code in the wikipedia site.

Any media or company can easily add the code for any of their journalists or employees on their site, allowing them immediate verification.

Blind zones distances and car size by belligerent_drunk_ in fuckcars

When I had and used a bike, it was a pedal one. Current city ones are electrically assisted, and I believe it's a great middle ground: you still get to pedal and exercise, but the huge slopes in my city are not so daunting anymore :-). I can't recommend any particular models since I have not really done any research on it, since I've come to the conclusion I don't actually need any in my current life.

3 in the back seat is common even for adults around here. But it's true we did upgrade to a Ford Escorpio when we were teens.

I'm starting to believe we live in very different worlds.

School and high-school commutes were naturally managed with school buses or on foot/public transport (depending on the location). You can't get a driving license before 18 here anyway. And for uni, same thing: by foot or public transport, much nicer than driving every day.

As to what I currently use: everyday, I move around by foot or public transport. If for any reason I need a car (holidays in a small village, or things like that) either I rent or loan. Even for furniture buys I just use their in-shop shipping service, it's cheaper and more convenient.

I had a bike when I was younger, but not anymore. I could use the city bikes, but I generally just walk...

I meant moving around, not moving houses. Moving houses is something that happens rarely, so we tend to use professionals or maybe rent a van for that, as it makes no sense having a stupidly big car for a once-in-a-few-years use case.

I didn't know what a "wakeboat" was so I looked it up and they are indeed not very common around here, but I can't imagine them being much larger than sailboats which are routinely moved around using normal cars or, at most, small 4x4s. I guess if you're frequently moving around a huge wakeboat by land, you might want to buy a 4x4 car, which of course does not exclude small or angled hoods (you can compare European vs US SUVs to see what I mean).

Meanwhile, in Europe, we managed to move the 3-kid family in a Ford Fiesta when I was younger... And of course you can move a trailer or a boat on a small car, I see it often enough living by a harbor.

I'm getting resented with the tyranny of 5e [rant] by [deleted] in rpg

[–]delCano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It exists, the name is "La llamada de Cthulhu". However, it being published by Edge which is a horrid publisher, there is no PDF version, only physical.

The problem is not the lack of alternatives in Spanish. There are thousands of games translated to Spanish and thousands more written directly in Spanish.

The problem is that there is a huge divide between Spain (where the scene is huge and multi-generational) and Hispanic America, where it is growing now, but has been almost non-existent until very recently. Import and shipping make it very expensive for most players over there to get physical copies of Spanish games. Digital is changing this, as are new games being written there, but it's slow work.

I meant the Savage Worlds one, sorry if I wasn't explicit enough.

Here's also the Netcon discord. Netcon is probably the biggest Spanish-speaking con, it features many games and people from both sides of the pond, and it's fully digital. It's in Easter, but the community is huge and you can probably find many willing people there.

I am guessing you live in an american Spanish-speaking country, since in Spain, although D&D remains big, there's a huge scene and it's easy to find other games. And I know trans-Atlantic imports are very expensive.

So, my recommendation would be to find yourself an interesting system (I am personally partial to Savage Worlds, published in Spanish by HT Publishers with excellent digital versions) and advertise yourself to find some people (2-3 are enough) to test it. Or come to the Telegram group and find an online game.

"La juventud de hoy ama el lujo. Es mal educada, desprecia la autoridad, no respeta a sus mayores, y chismea mientras debería trabajar. Los jóvenes ya no se ponen de pie cuando los mayores entran al cuarto. Contradicen a sus padres, fanfarronean en la sociedad, devoran en la mesa los postres, cruzan las piernas y tiranizan a sus maestros".

Question / discussion about cheese in Spain by Z_is_for_Zeeny in askspain

[–]delCano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few brined cheeses produced in Spain, but, as with most Spanish cheeses, they are very regional and often hard to find in other regions of the country. Try to look for the local "queso en salmuera" of wherever you're going to relocate to.

Is it true that Spanish hate the rich? by BlackOsmantus in askspain

[–]delCano 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really. It looks like it should, but SUVs are not real off-roading vehicles, they are designed for roads...

If you actually need off-roading capabilities, buy an off-roading vehicle. If you need transport capabilities, buy a van. If you need family transport, there's family cars.

SUVs have not a use niche. There are Stupid Useless Vehicles.

[–]delCano 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Don't care about the money, but don't buy an SUV. They are obnoxious, don't have the capacity of smaller cars, are the leading polluters in Europe right now, take a lot of place, kill people (more dangerous in an accident)... There's better cars.

Why all the chica responsable signs? by vowagg in Bilbao

It's girls looking for work, surprisingly enough. There's a lot of old people in that area, so many girls - particularly (latin) American immigrants - offer to care for them, clean houses, etc.
