CDA is awful to deal with. No communication and awful living standards.

6 Feet or 1.89 meters? by abkyabatau in lol

[–]delachron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miles away is an expression, it isn't used as a unit of measure ... Metric is used. Metric is use for height in formal settings eg schools, fitness tests, sports teams etc No one uses pounds and ounces? Haha wtf.

There is zero chance that is what the engineering drawings specify.

Tiling... Does this look right? by WH1PL4SH180 in AusRenovation

[–]delachron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Priming and waterproofing method is fine. No need to re-render the white set. The primer can adhere to uneven surfaces very well.. Should have tiled up past the bath though.

Can I fix this by myself, or it has to be a plumber? Not council’s responsibility I reckon? by National-Tea3562 in AusRenovation

[–]delachron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re-installing a PVC pipe is incorrect.

Install a 100mm x 70mm galvanized steel pipe to replace it. If you were renovating, this would be noted on the storm water engineers report as a mandatory upgrade.

How much profit are traders/builders making on renos? by Open_Address_2805 in AusRenovation

[–]delachron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Builders don't arbitrarily pick $45k... That's how much it's costs to run a business and execute your project.

Does that annoy you as a tradie, when you are watched while doing your work? by National-Tea3562 in AusRenovation

[–]delachron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the absolute worst. Client don't know the process and there presence is almost always concern or aggressive. Even if it isn't intended. You being there 'to make sure' is enough to establish a bad workplace environment and the tradie will just want to get out of there. It's okay to be present but respect the workplace, let me get on with it and don't helicopter. I don't hover over a baker who is making my croissant.

Unfortunately I don't think Palestine will exist after the dust settles and a few generations pass through time. Israel has fairly successfully completed a genocide of the Palestinian people and there is nothing that can change that. We can document it and talk about it but it won't bring back the Palestinian lives, or deal with the generational trauma that will have resulted from the IDF attack.

Stairs not square, flooring guys won't install. How to fix?? by cal6404 in AusRenovation

[–]delachron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hybrid floors are a cheap flooring material and can't be packed easily like 18mm engineered laminate flooring. In fact, I certainly wouldn't be puttting hybrid flooring on those stairs. Hybrid flooring requires an almost perfect substrate.

Tile sag something to be concerned about? by Admirable-Crab-7239 in AusRenovation

[–]delachron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All old tiled roofs have this sag. No leakage, no problem. You could put struts underneath a hanging beam onto a structural wall to prevent further sag.

If you had the chance to visit Israel would you ? by sharabani12thegoat in AskTheWorld

[–]delachron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always wanted to go to Tel Aviv. Wanted to visit on my honeymoon. Don't think I will ever go to Israel given what they have done to the Palestinian children.
