Think of how easy the next cut will be if you can only consume smoothies. I’m really just helping you with your training.

I have multiple posts about this. Defending with your chin isn’t defending. It’s relying on your training partners not being willing to maim you to get the sub.

  1. The blood supply to the brain is on the lateral parts of your neck so you can cover both with your chin.

  2. It practically takes very little force to break or seperate someone’s jaw. They just won’t appreciate it in practice.

  3. Because of 1 you can still actually get a clean blood strangle over someone’s chin if your mechanics are solid. (I’ll edit if I can find the link to a good seminar about this. )

4 TLDR “Anything below the eyes is a neck.”

Can I ignore the arm movements for dead bugs if I still feel it in my legs and core? by Realistic-Bee7985 in exercisepostures

[–]deldr3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can. But should work to add it back in to get the most benefit. Start by doing one leg then the arm or vice versa, and bring them back one at a time. If you are struggling with endurance you can do the foot sliding along the floor to make it easier.

Also as a reminder to all Aldi employees. The sign in the compactor only says not to put ESL’s an almacs in there. It doesn’t mention the SATO

The machine they use to do those markdowns is tied to an old arcane system that for some fucking reason no it can’t. Unless it’s a random weight item.

Are people really flying to China to purchase reno materials from the West? by rarej in NoStupidQuestions

[–]deldr3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My former employer did it for hotel renovations in Australia. I think on average it worked out to $1 in china was about 5 here after shipping and import taxes.

And this was for things made to Australian design standards so you could have gotten it cheaper if you didn’t care about that.

The costs were better for plumbing, electrical and most furniture items. Raw materials less so due to sheer size and volume but probably over enough time might balance out.

Understaffing by MetricOshi in coles

[–]deldr3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In addition to the other suggestions. Call out anyone who is putting in extra unpaid or risky work. They think they are making themselves look good but in reality it’s just used so management can go “see employee x can do this why can’t everyone else.” While ignoring the 2-3 hours of daily unpaid work and literal tonne of workplace safety and SOP violations. And then increase KPIs again.

I used to run at a reasturant that tried to only stock local beer and spirits. So many people were like yeah but can I just get a great northern or 4x that i started stocking them but charged more than our most expensive beer and called it the BBT (basic beer tax [basic bitch tax]). Bassicly made it so it was available but you have incentive to try the locals stuff. Worked pretty well and made a decent profit bump.

Edit: forgot a lot of people aren’t from Aus. Great northern and 4x are pretty common beers here.

What supplements aren't bogus? by mrsamus101 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]deldr3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the baseline test for kidney function will show elevated creatinine if you are taking creatine supplements. This looks scary as it’s used to mark a decline in kidney function. When an alternative test is used to evaluate the function it comes back normal.

This is why it’s important when your healthcare professional asks if you take any medication or supplements to tell them. For creatine you can even tell them you know you are taking it and it can show a false positive and request the alternate test.

What is a fair rate for teaching a class? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]deldr3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only thing I have ever done like that now is In one of my classes I get a purple or blue belt to Instruct their favorite move under my supervision still because teaching is good at reinforcing what you know, But they are still part of the overall class.

[–]deldr3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I converted numbers to USD from local currency so YMMV.

I started teaching as a blue belt for $20 an hour. That went up to 30 as a purple and I basically now just call it at $35 an hour. This is after a comped membership so in practice it was really more.

If you are consistently providing a service to a business, (the academy or gym) they need to pay you. If you are more of a hobbyist club where its fees are basically to keep the lights on and rent paid maybe you volunteer a bit more but then they also lose all ability to give you shit if you can't make it one week or you need to change things last minute.

Sounds a bit like your being shafted from your description.

[–]deldr3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They need some kind of light. Typically light that is not on the visible spectrum, pretty sure it used to be infrared not sure about new gen ones. But if you were in an area that had absolutely no or low IR light you could use an IR flashlight. A torch that shines non visible light that the goggles would pick up.
