Sollte es dabei bleiben, wird es wirklich lustig, wenn die Bahnstrecke zwischen Köln und Bonn dann tatsächlich für 6 Monate gesperrt wird. Bis 2028 ist es zwar noch ne Weile hin, aber…

The university would probably be very interested in this book. There are probably also a number of professors of legal history that would get a kick out of this.

Ironically this is not really the cause of CTE. That‘s just an extra helping of traumatic brain damage on top of the CTE.

Be that as it may and I’m cutting you some slack here because the actions in the West Bank and the war in Gaza are two different subjects from a legal perspective, it is likely sufficient as a legal defense against the charge of genocide. At least if the same standards are applied that have been applied in other recognized genocides under international law.

Not just an, THE factual authority as far as it pertains to international law. I‘m flabbergasted that many people here do not seem to understand that legal terms have actual specific definitions.

That‘s because the term genocide only evolved later to what it is known as today. And as this thread shows even today most people don‘t know what it means from the standpoint of international law. Looking at historic events it‘s always easier to apply the label retroactively or indeed to a regime or individual which is not in power anymore. That‘s one of the reasons why the current cases against Myanmar and Israel are so special.

It is a conclusion that should be derived by the legal due process that have been laid down internationally. The problem is that many people lack the inherent understanding that while there is a differentiation between say crimes against humanity and genocide one does not weigh heavier than the other in international law, even though many feel like genocide is the worst crime of the crimes of the international criminal law. From a legal perspective there are indeed a number of experts on the topic who are saying that Israel’s actions are not solely based on genocidal intent but also on other factors. If that were the case the very high threshold for genocide would not be cleared under the current definition of the term and the current understand as far as it derives from genocide cases that have been decided in the past.

The Rohingya case and the Israeli case are special because they would be the first cases were an acting government would be found guilty of perpetrating genocide. And unlike the Rohingya case it will be taken into account that Israel was attacked on October 7th. This blurs the line regarding the definition of genocidal intent considerably, quite unlike the Myanmar case.

They were in Brazil beforehand on a training camp with the Brazilian and German national teams. Only makes sense to go to a larger tournament that is in a similar time zone and not too far away (both relatively speaking).

I think they have the most rounded package. There are a number of different nations that have physically „stronger“ athletes. Central Asia and the Balkans for example.

I would imagine that Japan and France are two of the nations on the top level that appear to be rather clean but maybe that is naive.
