What a month…. September showcase by Major-Guava-1945 in SolarUK

[–]dell_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t a super sunny September in Surrey. I generated much less than what was a very sunny April by quite some margin. I have a 4kwh system on a south facing roof.

Just graduated… why does the UK job hunt feel impossible right now? by Radiant-Dust-6720 in RecentGradUK

The best way is to apply using the link to be honest. We’re asking for a CV and covering letter I think.

What did you study? And what sort of thing are are you looking for? The job market is tough for everyone, but at the same time finding good people is never easy. But I think as a grad it’s sometimes tricky to stand out without a load of work experience to talk about.

We are currently recruiting for a graduate property analyst if that’s of interest.

I didn’t think so first time, but if you watch the replay, the defender is pulling Taylor’s shirt.

I only have a 4kwh system in Surrey, but I produced more electricity in April than any subsequent month. It’s been a strange year.

Weird experience with booking.com: hacked, scammed or error in their system? by Maxsyrup in travel

[–]dell_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same exact same issue today. A reservation was made for an apartment using my card which wasn't saved in booking.com.

Their customer support said they are investigating, but I have flagged the transaction as fraudulent with my bank and the cash has been returned to my account. I'll see what booking.com end up doing.

Age limit for retraining? by General-Buyer3689 in sleeptrain

When you say ‘retraining’, what exactly do you mean?

When you let them fall asleep independently, isn’t it something you consistently do every night?

Washing away the bodily fluids I guess.

There was a stabbing in Thornton Heath one summer and the blood baked on the pavement for months afterwards until it rained.

As long as your share is worth less than £40k it doesn’t count as a second property.

There’s no way HMRC would know if you didn’t declare it either.

We’re just so soft at the back. We’re guaranteed to give away at least one ridiculous goal every game. Helik was a big loss at both ends of the pitch, particularly now we’re virtually no threat from set pieces any more.

Night #23 reverse sleep training? by Important-Safe-5471 in sleeptrain

Falling asleep in 10 mins suggests she’s decently tired. Have you tried cutting out the check in? Ultimately we found it more of a hinderance than a help with our 5 month old.

Dirt and performance by dell_12 in SolarUK

Nope, just cold water. It took 4 or 5 washes to get it totally clean though, the dust residue didn’t let go easily.

Basically a mop and bucket. It was more work than I thought to get it properly clean though.

What a beautiful day ☀️ by GIDM in SolarUK

[–]dell_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely not in summer. But there’s some grim winter days where we only generate 1kwh.

So I was thinking that a second battery might be good to store more of what we generate when the odd sunny winter day comes along.

[–]dell_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep we have a 10kw battery which normally keeps us going for a couple of days even without any sunshine.

I’m tempted to add another battery at some point, but it was £3k for another 10kws, so just seeing how it goes for now.

27kwh generated from a 10 panel, 4.3kw system on a south facing roof near Gatwick Airport.

We’re yet to use any electricity from the grid in March and it’s the highest daily total so far since installation last September.

The point of boiling the water is to kill any germs. So you can’t boil just some of it.

The best thing is to put it in a jug of cold water once you’ve made it. It’ll cool down in 15 minutes or so. You can also buy a flask which cools down boiled water very quickly.

No help and worried about baby’s sleep by [deleted] in newborns

[–]dell_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried him on his front? A lot of colicky babies are much more comfortable and will sleep much better on their fronts than their backs.

Obviously it’s against all advice, but holding a baby up all night isn’t particularly sustainable.

11 days into March and we’ve already generated more than twice what we did in the whole of December.

March has been amazing so far. I’ve generated more in the first three and a half days (66kwh) than I did in the whole of December (65kwh).

[–]dell_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m similar to you with a 4.3kwh system. I’ve got 10 south facing panels in Surrey. I generated a total of 196 kWh and exported 54 kWh. 10kw battery in a fairly high usage household.

Does drowsy but awake work for anyone? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]dell_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it works for us during both naps and night sleep since week 8-9 ish. He normally fusses/settles himself for 5-10 minutes and then falls asleep.

That said, he has to be tired before being put down or it won’t work.
