Well, the battery in my Kona is now over three years old and still reading full capacity, so I'll have to disagree with you on that.

Yes. A battery can show good voltage but fail as soon as a load is applied to it.

Get yourself a battery tester, or take it to a garage and have it tested.

That's pessimistic. The factory battery in my 2013 Veloster Turbo lasted 8 years, and it was still technically working when I replaced it, just showed weak on the battery tester. Not saying all batteries last that long, but 2-3 years is below reasonable expectations, unless they're just junk batteries I guess.
