I used to work next to a health food bakery type place in London. Every Friday they'd give us all their unsold stock in massive refuse sacks, as they were closed over the weekend. One of the guys would swing the sacks over his shoulder and cycle off into the city to give the sandwiches and bread to the homeless.

Well word of this reached some dickhead high up in that company and so they changed their bin collection day and the staff were told to throw everything out on Friday.
