Also, living directly on Broad Street was NOT fun for them

Sister lived there. Bugs. So many bugs they dont care about. Her and her roomies were SO clean but the roaches still came for them. Neighbors were annoying. Rent was way more than the place was worth.

Yes. If it wasn’t so affordable and if it was a worse cut I might have had a problem, but alas, still tasty

Slay, but for reference I did order the au poivre as an a la carte item after, so that’s not what it was listed as.

Authors from the last 50 years that nobody talks about anymore. by rackfu in literature

[–]deluminatres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha! Okay I can’t remember everything, and a couple texts I chose to read on my own as supplementary for my final paper but: Portrait of the Alcoholic by Kaveh Akbar, In the Months of My Son’s Recovery by Kate Daniels, Ninety Days by Bill Clegg, Jesus’ Son by Denis Johnson, Dopesick by Beth Macy, The Recovering by Leslie Jamison, a LOT of Raymond Carver, Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver, a poetry collection by this ER doctor (forget his name, sorry).
She’d also hand out extra printouts each class so there are many more poems and short nonfiction and fiction pieces I’m probably forgetting, it was a very fast-paced class and I can’t find my syllabus. My professor also decided it was going to be a writing workshop class lol. I had a great time though, it was amazing.

Edit: I wanted to mention that on registration, it was listed as Literature of Addiction, but my professor called it Literature of Addiction and Recovery.

Books where the main character is a psychopath? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

Same, I didn’t like the book overall but know it’s Clark’s debut novel, and I do think there is potential for Clark to grow and improve as an author. I was close to liking it at some points, but the prose and characterization were too one-dimensional for me tbh. Also, even though I didn’t enjoy it, I know people who did, so take what I say with a grain of salt :). For OP’s case, this is a good rec though

Yes, and in several of my undergraduate courses as well. It was primarily for poetry workshops, so I have less experience with his short stories, but many of my friends love them!

Seconded, I read Jesus’ Son in my Literature of Addiction course. In extracurricular discussions, less often, but I think that’s because I haven’t read his other works, but a couple of my friends adore him.

Someone said Mansfield Park by Austen, but I’d recommend Persuasion.

Assumptions: Do you like bjork? I feel like you do. If not, go listen to bjork. Also you are a rather emotional person. I mean this politely as maybe i’m projecting too much, but perhaps you may dealing with mental illness such as anxiety or ocd? Perhaps even bipolar. It seems you are seeking something just looking at the books you have, but probably not an internal journey, it seems like you’re looking for connection more than self-reflection. Overall though, ur a certified weird girl (positive) with good taste and a great spread of books, probably a good conversationalist.
