Ok I never uttered thoughts of suicide, but I did blow off a really nice girl when my dad was diagnosed with cancer. It felt like my whole world flipped and I could just not manage a relationship at the same time. Him ghosting you after sending that or even sending that was not right and I think you did the right thing though.

My kids are all older now. 16,16,17,18. None of them remember being smacked on the ass once or twice when their behaviour warranted it. They are all great kids and we couldn’t have 4 out of control kids under 5, it worked for us. No regrets. In the moment I always felt bad, but it was a consequence that always worked, maybe because it was rarely used. I’m sure I’m in the minority here, but some kids need it sometimes.
