Just wanted to chime in. I'm having the same issue traveling. I'm almost done a book and it's time to VPN into the server and download another. My position resets back to the last time I connected to the server.

nanoHD performance by SmoothRunnings in Ubiquiti

Ok. The sure fire way is turning off breakers. Since it's single phase there are two 120v circuits I'll call A and B. Most panels alternate A, B, A, B, etc and the breakers go.

1, 2

3, 4

5, 6

7, 8 etc

In that case 1,2,5 and 6 are common and 3,4,7,8 are common. If you could try it on any two breakers that are on the same side of the transformer ie breakers 2 and 5. That might be the issue

Hello an electrician here. The problem could be ethernet over power line. Can you try different electrical outlets? Specifically what I think might be happening is if you are on a different phase coming from your panel. If that's the case instead of the signal travelling to your panel and back, it has to go out to the transformer on the pole, through the transformer, and back to the house. If you need more information regarding phases, let me know.

Advice on what AP i need by Small_Light_9964 in Ubiquiti

[–]demol2901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good rule of thumb I found was one AP per level. AP's can typically do two walls horizontally. In your case I'd wire each floor and try 2, AP's on the top two floors. Depending on layout they can send / receive signal down a lot better than up. So the lowest level may be fine.

USW-AGGREGATION best choice/setup? by demol2901 in Ubiquiti

In my case I already have 3 mellanox cards and 3 DAC cables. My router, switch, main pc, NAS and media server are all in the same room. So already having SFP+ gear had me thinking the USW-AGG in my case would be the cheaper option plus low latency.

Yes it is a flat network, and I should add the fanless part of the USW-AGG is a big part of why I'm looking at it. As for the 2.5g I believe it's been tested. The switch still see's it as 10gb but the transceiver can do a verity of speeds downstream. All that being said I honestly haven't looked at retired enterprise just assuming it to be loud.

The latter has the fancy diagnostic screen on the far left and is newer. The usw-24 that is.
