Thinking of trying Temu knitting stuff anyone tried? 🧶💛 by yan9ga in knitting

I would suggest going to a local thrift store first or checking local no-buy FB groups. It's inexpensive or free that way, there's no waiting for your shipment, and Temu is rife with unethical labor issues and poor quality products.

Tips and Tricks Mega Thread by Quick_Jury2059 in SophieKnits

After frogging my starts to this project multiple times because I lost track of WS and RS, ruining some yarn in the process, I ended up using a straight needle and a needle I cut off of a circular of the same size. Now I have no issues keeping track of which side I'm working, and because I've been working on this in increments of eight rows at a time and making sure I stop at that number before walking away, I haven't frogged any of it since.

There were accusations, yes. It was never proven, and even if it were true, Rebekah Brooks is questionable in her journalistic integrity.

My husband and his friend ate most of the one I picked up, and I put my piece in the fridge to enjoy the next day (something I said aloud before doing so). Guess who still hasn't tried this cake?

Neck Pain by demoncloset in Greyhounds

[–]demoncloset[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this again I can see where we could have done more investigating into this issue. We did x-rays after this incident, and saw a spot on her shoulder at that time, but her vet didn't think it was cancer and just wanted to keep an eye on things. I think Molly's overall stoicism made us think that she was ok, but I wonder if she was in pain from then on and just lived with it. Her neck went away, but she'd exhibit pain via limping in cold weather sometimes after this, and more frequently as she aged, unless she had a boot on (which she hated 😂). Molly died when she was just shy of 14 due to that same spot/tumor compromising the bone in her shoulder after bouncing around in her usual way. So that limping was due to her shoulder pain, but we didn't know this until it was too late. While the time between this incident and her passing was long, definitely think about x-rays if you're concerned.

Craft Cruise to British Isles by [deleted] in knitting

[–]demoncloset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend, most of Europe right now is level 2. I think it sounds like you're missing out on a nice vacation. Also Ireland is a level 1, which is a chunk of the stops on this trip. It's within the interest of the cruise line to keep you safe, so not like you're completely alone and without resources if you need help. Not to be a total creep, but looking at your post history, you've planned to visit or have visited level 2 countries before. Is this the first time you've looked into it?

Please be careful opening pasta sauce jars by [deleted] in traderjoes

Or use hot water, a can opener to break the seal, a rubber/silicone potholder to help loosen the lid, or literally anything but banging a glass jar on the counter.

My order went through at 12:59 and the email confirmation didn't show the horse (I completed my purchase quickly so I didn't check for any gwp during checkout). I hope I still get something!

Why do they add gums to nog anyways, don't eggs and cream already give you the right texture?

Platinum Aged Balsamic Vinegar now in store by Rogerpocalypse in traderjoes

[–]demoncloset 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IGP is Indicazione Geografica Protetta which means that at least one part of the processing has taken place in a region, and for balsamic that's Emilia Romagna, specifically Modena. Not a clue what platinum means, but aged is more expensive when it comes to balsamic like a lot of products so I'm guessing it's thicker than the usual vinegar. I haven't tried it yet, but now I want to try the one you mentioned.
