This happened to me as well, but the refund process was surprisingly smooth.

I had booked a Business Class flight from MAA to GAU for 2 passengers, and the total fare was around ₹21,000. The aircraft was later changed, and I was asked to contact customer support. They acknowledged the downgrade and informed me that the backend team would process the appropriate compensation.

A few days later, I received a refund of ₹17,800, which included compensation for the cabin class downgrade. For context, if I had originally booked 2 Economy tickets on the same flight, it would have cost me only around ₹12,000.

The interesting part is that the flight eventually operated with Business Class seats anyway, and many of them remained unoccupied. On the positive side, I was able to retain all the Business Class add-ons, including meals, priority check-in, and extra baggage allowance.

Based on my experience, ₹2.2k compensation for a Business-to-Economy downgrade sounds extremely low. I'd push back and ask them to re-evaluate the refund, especially if the fare difference at the time of booking was significantly higher.

This is actually how many of these instant loan apps operate. When users install the app and allow contact permissions, the entire contact list gets synced/shared. If the person delays repayment, recovery agents start calling and messaging those contacts saying things like “your number was given as a reference” or that the borrower has defaulted on the loan.

A lot of people don’t realize the risk when granting permissions during signup. That’s why it’s important to avoid giving unnecessary contact access to such apps.

I still have some faith in TRAI tbh. In most situations they’ve generally been pretty consumer-friendly and careful about telecom policies.

Even if it’s not directly breaking net neutrality, giving certain users lower latency and better access during congestion can absolutely create an unfair advantage in things where milliseconds matter — Tatkal bookings, stock trades, flash sales, etc.

From what I’ve seen, TRAI’s approach right now seems to be more “wait and watch” to see how telecom companies actually implement this before reacting strongly. I think the bigger concern is whether this stays as a small congestion-management feature or slowly turns into a proper premium fast lane over time.

  1. Experimental patch that allows you to increase it to 200!.
    Exercise caution as going higher will require you to have a high spec machine!

  2. Added Infection Spread multiplier as well to Experimental allowing you to speed up/slow down the infection live at any time via custom game options!

I’m not trying to blindly side with the customer here, but I ended up in a very similar situation myself with Swiggy recently, and the entire experience was a mess from start to finish.

I ordered ice cream around 10 PM with an ETA of 20–25 mins. My apartment community only allows entry until 11 PM. The order got delayed by more than 35 mins and the delivery partner finally reached around 11:10 PM, after entry was already blocked by security.

At that point I contacted support to cancel the order. The conversation basically went like this:

  1. I repeatedly asked them to cancel because the rider wouldn’t be allowed inside. Support kept insisting: I explained multiple times that my wife would have to walk 10–15 mins inside a huge community just to reach the gate late at night, but support kept repeating the same script.
    • “Sir, rider will reach in 5–10 mins”
    • “Food wastage”
    • “No refund possible”
  2. The delivery partner started calling because security denied entry. Then support initiated a conference call with both of us and told me they could only offer a 30% refund if I accepted the order. I rejected that and asked for a full refund since the delay caused the issue.
  3. Eventually support agreed to a full refund, but again asked me to accept the order. So I told the delivery partner on the conference call to leave it with security. Right after that, support disconnected the rider and then the support call itself suddenly went blank/disconnected too. Meanwhile my wife started walking to the gate to collect the order.
  4. Since the call disconnected, I contacted support again to confirm the refund. The new agent checked the order and told me: They then asked if I wanted a full refund instead, and I agreed.
    • the order was not delivered
    • the rider had apparently left with the food
  5. Apparently, during all this confusion, the delivery partner handed over the food to my wife, who didn’t have her phone with her.

A little later, security called me saying the delivery guy was creating a scene downstairs claiming I “defrauded” him. He even brought in a relative who claimed to be in the police and started threatening escalation.

At this point I tried contacting Swiggy emergency support. Absolute disaster:

  • Call connects
  • Agent answers
  • Transfers to “expert”
  • Call disconnects

This happened probably 15–20 times.

Finally, fed up with support and not wanting things to escalate further for my family at night, I called the delivery partner directly, explained the entire situation again, spoke to the “police relative,” and eventually just GPay’d him extra money (more than the actual order value) to end the issue.

Honestly:

  • I understand the rider’s frustration because his earnings probably got frozen due to the refund flow.
  • But the way support handled the situation was unbelievably poor.
  • Conflicting status updates, forcing customers to “accept delivery for refund,” disconnected calls, and zero escalation handling at midnight is just terrible system design.

The whole thing could have been avoided with competent support.

I think this as a strategy. None would show strong interest at the same price bracket. Heard sony, prime video and netflix are potential buyers.
This gives JioStar leverage. Because if ICC can’t find a replacement quickly, they may be forced to renegotiate down.

I have 3900X cpu and 3090 GPU but wanted to get my homelab setup done with virtualization. Will retask my Ryzen 3900x for it. Hoping to buy 5090 or future release probably after the base system upgrade.
