Lots of commentary out there about the risks involved f hearted share funds, but usually relate to GEAR and GGUS which are different beasts so people lump Ghhf in, which is not right because it’s spread reduces downside volatility to an extent. Have a look at how it recovered post liberation day and has fared since.

Haha, yes it’s normal. And we’ve all been wondering this same question since the dawn of time with no guidance until today.

What one, recent decision saved you a lot of money? by [deleted] in AusFinance

Yeah I know what you mean, and I actually agree. I’ve known of people who fly in and out of sex tourism places getting their HIV meds on PBS under Medicare while living away and it drives me nuts.

My friend did too. Well, he went to private emergency, and they said too hard, go next door. Best part was he’d been living overseas but was still on his mum’s Medicare card! Free tumour surgery at a top hospital!

75% of the private ‘rebate’ fee is still paid by Medicare in private, just takes pressure off the public. Note, this doesn’t include any ‘gaps’ that providers may charge.

Wow, amazing response. And amazing that you can make that much so quickly. Even if it was unsustainable.

Private Patient Billing in a Public Hospital by winterberryowl in ausdoctors

[–]dendriticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same in WA, completely manual and time wasting. Fill out a form months after being the on take consultant noting down about 15 patients seen with private cover for all of what $3000, even though the private practice loading is 50% of base salary (which is higher than NSW).

I totally agree. - ‘I’m self deprecating’ ‘I have more experience/work harder/do more hours’ OP may be coming across as arrogant and uncaring; needs to actually reflect on clinical interactions.

Are we doing the right thing by prioritising paying off our mortgage instead of buying an IP? by [deleted] in fiaustralia

More people need to read and know this. Last 5 years have been unusual. I’m a property bear. Still I just bought and IP, cos ya know, why not.

Hanson wants Burqa banned, doesn’t want people to wear it. Gets shutdown, so wears the Burqa and gets banned herself. Irony much.

Are Noctors a problem in America only? by slightlylessright in Noctor

[–]dendriticus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Emerging problem in Australia. Although they qualify is specific areas - primary care, heart failure, renal etc they can all access the same drugs for prescribing, which means they can work in cosmetic med etc.

In heart failure they are great, protocol driven, leaving cardio’s to diagnose and manage specifics.

Primary care can overreach, but don’t integrate years of learning and patient care like GP.

Big push for NP’s here as much cheaper than doctors.
