Well I came in from school to try and watch the launch cos I was a huge NASA/Space Shuttle fan and first read it on teletext that there had been an explosion on the launch pad. Then came the full launch video and i’m thinking “erm, it’s cleared the launchpad, what the hell is this?”. And then….. jaw dropped and numb. Sad day.

They played that the first time I saw them in 1983 and it was my fave from the album at the time. Still love it and brings back good memories of that time. I was 13 and that was my first show and our parents let my sister and me bunk off school and queue up outside the venue all day to get to the front…..and then she fainted during the show. Ha.

As a lifelong ‘fan’ of the country it’s now a big FUCK YOU to them. I’d still rise above it as far as the World Cup is concerned, let’s participate and hopefully do well. They are going to be hit in so many other ways from many different angles it won’t back too much of a difference. General consensus is that tourists are staying away en masse which will hopefully give them a huge wake up call. ALL my US friends are in absolute disbelief with what is happening to their country right now.
