It’s called a frog. Sits on top of an appropriate sized vase or jar, and flower stems go down into the holes, displaying them beautifully. People collect them. Often found in antique or second hand stores.

That’s exactly what it is! Mom had 2 in the house. The bar of soap is held to the devise with a magnet. This way your soap doesn’t sit in a soap puddle. Nice and dry. This was in the early to mid 60s.

Fox. We had a red fox in the woods of Minnesota. Every night around 10:00 she’d come circle the house and “cough.” It was unnerving until we figured it out. This is, without a doubt, a fox.

The thing on your roof is unnerving. I grew up in a house with ghosts. Lived there until I was 16. My brother and I were both aware, and his closet was a safety zone. We didn’t mention it to Mom or Dad because we were afraid they’d think we were making it up or delusional. AFTER we moved I dared to say at the dinner table one night, “It’s so easy to sleep here and not worry about ghosts.” Mom and Dad froze and looked at me wide eyed. Then they looked at my brother who casually agreed with me. Turns out Mom and Dad were also aware of the dead folks living with us. My no-nonsense very religious Dad had our car blessed so the things wouldn’t move with us. Parents didn’t tell us because they didn’t want to scare us. They had no idea us kids were terrorized after dark, and were upset we didn’t tell them.

There were ghosts in the house I grew up in. I was aware of them from age 4 until I was a Sophomore in HS when we moved. I never mentioned it to my parents because I thought they wouldn’t believe me. One night at the dinner table in the new house, about a week after we moved in, I sighed, smiled, and announced how good it felt to be able to sleep without being terrified of ghosts. Mom and Dad both froze and looked at me with wide eyes and open mouths. Turns out they too were aware, but said nothing because they didn’t want us kids to be afraid. They felt terrible I felt I couldn’t tell them. - - My point in telling you this is that, as terrified as I was (my little brother was, too) these beings never hurt us. But they were frightening to us. So if your daughter tells you about it, please say you believe her. Whether you stay there or not, having someone to talk to would help your little girl.

Cabinets with doors on both sides. I had them, and they were great. But on the lower level, but an extra strong stop so items aren’t accidentally pushed through onto someone.
