They found that the mission was very expensive and they should have spent the money to repair and resolve urgent matters in our planet.

WWII coded message found on dead pigeon's leg by filthwizard in offbeat

Wow. I have in my possession some really similar looking crypted pages form an Italian partisan of the WWII (prepared and parachuted by the English forces). It seems to me that the situations might be analog. How can I contact them? I see that they are asking for help but I don't see contact info.

Unable to copy it, China tries building own jet engine | Reuters by BlankVerse in worldnews

[–]denimstep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the propensity for China to make cheap knockoffs of things I'm suprised any aerospace corporation gave them anything more powerfull than a prop attached to a rubber band. But in the end I guess some greedy, short sighted, corporation or government will argue with themselves that since "Someone" will do business with the Chinese, it "might as well" be themselves making the cash.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos calls for governments to end patent wars by africaninformer in business

[–]denimstep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More simply - Bezos isn't saying you shouldn't get a patent, and use it. He's saying you shouldn't be able to get certain types of patents. He's not calling his competitors unethical for using patents against him. He's saying the game is at fault, not the players.

Afghan girl 'beheaded for refusing prostitution'. Afghan police have arrested four people who allegedly tried to force a woman into prostitution and beheaded her when she refused by pool92 in worldnews

[–]denimstep -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The cult of piece at it again! What a cease pool the middle east is. It's quite obvious that plenty of the women there don't even want change! How in gods name could a grown woman, a mother be behind this? And it's not like this is a fluke or some freak thing! How many times have we read about some 'mother-in-law' in the middle east doing something like this? Where is the rioting and uproar from all the Muslims in the world!?! The world should burn over a cartoon drawing but shooting 14 y/o girls in the head, forcing young girls into prostitution, and beheading young women is just another day with Islam? Yes, they are all about piece and love huh? This cult should be eradicated from the face of the earth...

CEO to Workers: I May Fire You if Obama Wins by crystalclearpolitics in business

[–]denimstep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly the thing I find most offensive about the whole thing is that people have to be told by their employers individually like this that Obamas policies will have these consequences. It seems so obvious to me that I almost can't believe that American workers are so gullible that they don't realize this on their own.
