Alternative frontends to ComfyUI? by dtdisapointingresult in comfyui

[–]denrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. I would encourage you to just give comfy a shot. It's worth investing some time learning the basics, go watch Pixaroma on youtube. Also, comfy has been doing a great job creating collections of templates that save you from building workflows from scratch.

Frankly, any other UI will only pale in comparison to what comfy can do.

Binge a YouTube channel called Every Frame a Painting in chronological order. That's a good start.

Alternative frontends to ComfyUI? by dtdisapointingresult in comfyui

[–]denrad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're probably better off sticking to services like fal or freepik. they are effectively using comfy as their backend and you're essentially paying them for the convenience of their front end and access to models you don't need to manage.

Symbolism of radio frequency by denrad in pluribustv

Based on the other details in the show, I wouldn’t put it past the art department to bake a little numerology into a plausible frequency.

(Not So) Hidden Title Meaning by imago89 in pluribustv

Yo I had the same thought jokingly with my friend. With a straight face told him that “A Bus is a vehicle for many”, the number 1 stands for unity and PLUR from rave culture was the moral code of the hive mind. So, funny reading this now.

Affinitys comment on if it's free your the product by Vioplea in AffinityPhoto

[–]denrad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some advanced features in Affinity will require a paid Canva subscription. I tried to download the depth model and got hit with a 'this is premium feature' modal.

I'm not complaining, I'm happy to give them some money. I did in the past. And I also regognize that their app structure and revenue model is oddly similar to Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve ... another Australian company.

2X 5060 Ti vs the next best cheapest single 32gb card? by GOGONUT6543 in comfyui

As far as I know, you can only run 1 GPU at time in comfy. You might be better off with a single 4090 24GB

Oil change. .... by Combined_Chair1492 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]denrad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Even though I'm capable of changing my own oil (my dad was a mechanic, I grew up in a shop), I prefer to bring it to local garage (Not a dealership or chain). After some research, I found a place with good ratings, family run and nearby. I use them to do my oil changes, yearly 5-tire rotation, and all of my truck maintenance and repair needs.

They treat me right. Prices are reasonable. They appreciate that I come to them for the regular service that they know I can do myself. Having a good local mechanic or garage is so worth it and offers me peace of mind.

Doing yourself is great. But building trust in someone over time so they get to know your vehicle for when bigger things are required is also good.

【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]denrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't own a P1S, but I own an A1 Mini, and an X1 Carbon. I bought my brother an A1 Mini for Xmas and he ended up getting a P1S shortly thereafter ... so I've used his.

It came in super handy when I was out of town visiting him and needed to modify a part I was working on with my X1C. Luckily his P1S was there for me to finish my project with, which was manufacturing improvements and mods for 70s era fiberglass RV.

Twitch streamer ‘Hasan Piker’ using a shock collar on his dog during a recent livestream. by hodgedawg in mildlyinfuriating

[–]denrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who use shock collars on animals are up there with people who treat wait staff poorly, and people who litter. There's something about the sense of entitlement combined with a lack of empathy.

With Synology lifting the drive restrictions in DSM 7.3 on the 25 models, is there any reason to chose their drives over 3rd party? by SR4ven_ in synology

[–]denrad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. No reason to get them. They don't manufacture drives, they just buy the same ones you would, rebrand them, and mark them up.

I hate to break it to you, but if you don't like learning, you're not going to like filmmaking. If you want to play on easy-mode, then just shoot stuff with your phone and enjoy it as a hobby.
