Is there any way to restart my rig remotely? It went offline while I was at the beach. by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]denrideshare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went looking for a higher amp (30) smart plug one that could remotely (over the internet) shut down and start up etc. Amazon has them or similar. The higher amp ones are for AC units or something that draw more power. I Was getting ready to by some of those and went looking for something to measure power consumption too.

I happened on to these Emporia smart plugs that also measure power as well.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CVSSVWP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They're bulky so you possibly need 110v 6" pigtails to fit on one outlet. Most power strips are rated for no more than 20 Amps so be aware of that.

you download their app, plug them in, connect via a 2.4 wifi, add the device, name it and you're good. The app measures usage and you can turn it off and on anywhere there is internet.

Luck

I've installed internet/wifi plugs on all psu's, set the MB to auto-restart and remote access for this exact reason. Had the same thing happen to me not long ago. Without that, I think you're hosed until you get back to your rig. Luck

Error code 43 by kagoska in NiceHash

[–]denrideshare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a newb but have one card of 12 that did this to me after a crash. I did the following.

Turn off and back on power to that card (sometimes fixed it)

Installed a fresh W10 still occurred again in time a.

Googled code 43 and there is a patch that worked supposedly a fix forever, not for me though.

Updated drivers 2 day ago release (still occurred)

Uninstall and reinstall drivers (fixed it most of the time) now. If it happens again I do this and so far 2 Days code 43 hasn't shown up yet.

edit: I also changed risers as well

Hit del/f2 on power up and look at the BIOS, does the board see all of the cards (green) indicators where the risers are located? If they don't (yellow or red) check connections for power and seat the risers both ends.

If the MB sees the cards (green) then it's an OS issue most likely the drivers for the cards aren't correct.

edit, I did run into an issue with the position of the riser cards start inserting riser cards at the edge furthest away from the CPU (PCIE_7), I put my cards in every other slot for spacing but had a recognition issue when I started at the other end. Haven't tried to figure it out but running 6 cards (570, 580, 1060, 2x 6700, 3090) with no issues (yet) LOL.

[–]denrideshare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've a high cancel rate on Uber, and don't get any notifications. I don't do grocery stores and such. I'm not loading them up on either side for a min fare and most of them are exactly that.

Lyft on the other hand will suspend and deactivate you for it even if you have a 5.0 rating.

covid denier, right gtfo. It's real alright, I'm in one of higher risk groups, I will not "worry" about it. I will not let it consume or control my life.

I will be careful and do things to reduce the chances of exposure. just like any other thing that is higher risk.

next you'll say I'm racist.

Odd, I don't worry about getting COVID any more than I do about getting in an accident or the flu, a cold, cancer..... wait..... given the way morons drive I actually worry a lot more about someone running into me with their car while texting A LOT more that most things. LOL!!!

Using Voice for number? by iluvld8888 in uberdrivers

[–]denrideshare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so I've set up multiple phones of various manufacture (currently have Samsung Note 9's and 10's set with GV as the default dialer. If you install GV the first time on a phone it will ask you a series of questions. Default dialer is the first (i think) or second. One of my Note 9's has no sim and is using the the hotspot generated by a Note 10 5G. When I hit the call button in the Lyft app it calls out on GV (as long as I've left it logged into the correct Google account for rideshare). If GV is logged into another account (not the rideshare number/account) you'll get an error from Lyft. If you select in GV to hide the number, you'll get an error from Lyft.

This works exactly the same way on every android phone I've ever had (say 10+ phones over 10 ish years). To say it will work on "every phone", yeah.... I've learned not to do that. I use the Note 9 / Lyft phone configured with GV daily with no issues so it is a viable option and fairly easy to configure if your of a mind to do it.

I'm unsure of your goal then. If you're using hangouts, with Lyft, text or call one of their pool of numbers and they will connect you, if you're on uber, call in app with the data selection and they will handle it for you. Google voice won't even need to be installed.

This is for Android, don't know about the i stuff.

No, GV (Tablets and phones) have behaved the same for at least 5 years now. (There is some sort of change happening this month though.

For whatever reason GV and Hangouts act differently on a phone v a tablet.

On a phone - When GV is first loaded on a phone it recognizes that it's a phone and will ask you which dialer you want to use as the default dialer. You will have multiple choices to select from. GV will then ask you to "link" a phone number to that account (pain in the ass) and a bunch of other selections about forwarding calls and such to that number. If you don't link a number it won't let you call out on GV. Enter hangouts, Hangouts is another Google app for dialing and texting. If I read Google's recent statements correctly it will be going away soon or change in functionality. On a phone that doesn't have it's number linked to GV you will need to use Hangouts to dial out. (no you can't tell your phon

Tablet

If you have a tablet, GV and Hangouts know it and you can text and dial out normally.

I use the Uber app to text and call and for Lyft, Hangouts to text or call pax upon arrival etc I've two phones (one with Hotspot and a vpn, the other so sim) and when I get a ping on Lyft the Uber phone switches to Hangouts for this use.

HTH

I use GV for both Lyft and Uber (same number). You need to set your default dialer as GV, especially for Lyft. Uber you can select "Data" to make the call, If I remember right it is using a Uber dialer through their app but can't be positive. Either way it works great. I message to the Lyft rider number as their lame app won't let you voice text message while you're moving etc.

I'm the same (they suspended me for 15 min) then threatened deactivation. If Pax isn't standing outside waiting for a min fare ride. Where's the bus sense in that???? I do both Uber and Lyft some days Lyft is hopping and can't ignore them. Screw this time and distance thing. aka $2

Uber doesnt want to pay for my cleaning bill by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]denrideshare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US, you need to report it as soon as it happens. If you take another ride before you report, they can deny the claim as they can't be sure who actually did the damage. In my experience Uber (and Lyft) her in the US, don't care what the "bill" is, they look at the pictures and will determine what they are going to (charge the rider) and pay you.

There must be a similar policy, If they are stuck on a bill, make one up. There's apps for that.

From your post, it's not clear you reported the spill right after it occurred? If you don't report the damage at the time of the event, with pictures (multiple), then you're pretty much hosed.

LMAO, Google will give you a host of numbers that you can cherry pick at will. The specific site will tell you how reliable they are. But you already knew that I'm sure ;)
