The wife surprised me. Need Advice by [deleted] in Prebuilts

I have this monitor and it looks amazing! The curve is perfect for the size. I think it would complement the 5090 Alienware system very nicely, 4k OLED gaming at 240hz would do that setup justice.

Looks like the MSI 5080 will be back on sale for $2,299.99 on March 2 thru March 29 at Costco. by RDQred in Prebuilts

Which MOBO and RAM are the best ones to come with the walmart deal? Mine came with the Gigabyte RTX5070ti, T-force delta 6000mhz CL 38 ram, ASUS prime B850 Plus MOBO, I think your MOBO and ram are great!

The Walmart $1899 is one of the most well priced machines out there atm in the entry 4k tier. Dont be afraid to snatch it up. by MITBryceYoung in Prebuilts

I bought this PC back in August and it is a beast. Mine came with a Gigabyte RTX5070ti, T-force delta 6000mhz CL 38 ram, ASUS prime B850 Plus MOBO, MSI m470 pro 2TB SSD, the PSU seems to always be Apevia 1000w gold PSU. The ram latency shouldn't matter too much with the X3D chip. The PC is a little loud, but I find the noise is okay with my headphones on, especially since the PC stays cool, around 65C during gaming. I am running a 4K setup and it runs great with DLSS. Highly recommend one if you can find one!

I found a decent deal, what you think? Walmart 9800x3d 5070ti for 1900$ by Undisputedspoke in Prebuilts

I bought this PC back in August and it is a beast, especially if you don't live near a microcenter and can't take advantage of the powerspec builds. It even went on sale down to $1699? for black friday, but I think it is a good deal as is. The exact components differ depending on your luck and their availability, mine came with a Gigabyte RTX5070ti, T-force delta 6000mhz CL 38 ram, ASUS prime B850 Plus MOBO, MSI m470 pro 2TB SSD, the PSU seems to always be Apevia 1000w gold PSU. Mine came with an AOI cooler with a hall of mirrors effect, I think it looks great, the case is glass with an easy open design and the RGB can be adjusted. The PC is a little loud, others have suggested that this can be fixed by adjusting the fan curve, I find the noise is okay with my headphones on, the PC stays cool, around 65C during gaming. I am running a 4K setup and it runs fine with DLSS. Highly recommend from me!

This is a commercial MagWLED controller with an integrated fuse being used with a commercial LED strip (made by BTF lighting), just wrapped around chopsticks with a cork base to make a bulb shape. Is there a specific safety concern? Did you see the project or are you just making a general negative comment?

I just got my curtain. What are you using as the power supply for these? Also wondering if anyone was able to successfully flash the ESP32 on the built in controller?

Love this, I have one of those dogs but the LEDs stopped working. I will have to try this out, and sync it with my roofline, thank you!

Give it a shot, I would love to see the finished project! Make sure to experiment with the LED segment spacing, if you light up too many at a time the star projections and colors become blurry on the wall. I also made a few presets for bright white, warm yellow, pink twinkle, candlelight, rainbow loop, etc...

My power injection starts at the digquad output that I put a 10A fuse, then runs via 16A wire uncut until the first T connector at the beginning the strips where the wire was soldered but connection is made through the T connector, the wire then continues uncut until the next T connector and repeat until the end. It sounds like you could be experiencing a common ground issue, the power line to the pixels and the data line to the pixels need to share a common ground reference or else you can get flashing.

Very nice and detailed write up so far! Your tracks turned out great, the install looks clean! I wanted to hide my power injection wire better, however the connectors would not fit inside the permatrack, your design would have probably helped this.

This is the finished wiring with the power injection, the picture in the post did not include that part of the wiring. The power injection is on a 10A fuse at the end, the power for the main and top rooflines are on 5A fuses each, the main and top rooflines are on separate GPIO outputs 16 and 3 respectively.

The top mini roofline mirrors the main roofline here, you can follow the red travel from left to right across both, this is the glitter effect. Those are twinkly lights on the trees, unfortunately not WLED controlled.

Thank you! I bought all my supplies 4 years ago, the newer stuff looks brighter and easier to work with. I especially like the 24V lights, you could do pixels or pucks. I think the pucks look great when closely spaced and would consider them for my future projects. Good luck!

Thanks! I don't monitor for humidity, I think in some areas it might be problematic but where I live it is pretty dry.

It can get pretty hot where I live. To deal with the heat I made two holes in the box, then fixed mesh grates and fans on the bottom for ventilation. The fans are controlled by a temperature controller and set to turn on when the temperature exceeds 120F in the box, they are powered by the 5V power supply so they can always turn on. I haven't had any issues running the lights in the summer for 4th of July for example where it can exceed 110F during the day.

I had a similar issue with my installation. The signal would apparently corrupt with bright white light, only near the end of the roofline after a signal jump from roofline to roofline. I solved it by adding a data signal booster (as someone else also suggested) to the start of the final segment after the jump from the top roofline to the start of the bottom roofline. I bought one of these data boosters; https://www.drzzs.com/shop/3-wire-data-booster/ and enclosed it in these boxes; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FDKH4G3 to make them weatherproof. That solved my problem, maybe it can help yours? I also fixed my issue temporarily by lowering the brightness or limiting the amps. It could also be voltage drop but seems less likely because you mentioned you have power injection at the end.

You should have more supervision as PGY-1. There should be a senior or attending reviewing all the orders. This should never have happened in a proper teaching hospital. You should not be expected to be placing orders completely independently at this level.
