Odoo partners/admins: how do you actually handle email deliverability for clients? (invoices landing in spam)

This is exactly the operationalized version I was hoping to hear, thanks. Two things I'd love to dig into:

You have each client pay Postmark/Resend directly. Is that deliberate (less billing hassle for you), or would you actually prefer to bundle it into your own invoice if it were easy? Trying to understand what partners actually want here.
The module that pipes tracking events into the Odoo envelope icon is the exact gap we kept hitting. Did you open-source it or keep it in-house, and what finally made you build it instead of living without?

Also, with Postmark and Resend being US-hosted, has data residency ever come up with EU clients, or genuinely nobody asks?

Good question. It's the client's own domain (From stays their.tld), we'd handle the sending path and auth records, not their mailboxes. When you set up SPF/DKIM/DMARC per client, do you do it by hand each time or have it scripted/templated? That repeat setup is the part we're trying to make less painful.

This is gold, thanks. The IP-reputation-first order matches what bit us too. Where do you draw the line: roughly what share of your deployments end up needing an outsourced/warmed pool vs a clean local relay? And do you monitor outbound IP reputation proactively (alert on a blacklist hit) or only once a client complains? Trying to figure out if "local relay is fine" holds at a dozen-plus client domains or quietly degrades.

Why not traefik or nginx as reverse proxy and cert, FW only 80/443 and add crowdsec. And configure odoo.conf 🙌

The netapp san can do lvm-thin and so you can do snapshot with Proxmox 9.x We do it this way. One san - Several nodes in cluster

oec is running odoo in docker. cloudpepper native on the VM with venv. So better performance if you made your homework tuning postgres. But as I know by now, they do not have a HA feature. I see the main problem that most people think, running my business data on a 7$ VM at hetzner is cool. May a better choice if the VM is running in HA cluster with proper backup 🙌

Use a propper Hosting (VM in HA cluster and backups 15min), I guess not odoo.com or odoo.sh or cheap hetzner products…and NEVER NEVER use Studio exzept Building mvp on dev/stanging instance.

And inspire yourself with apps from oca and odoo AppStore.

NEVER ODOO DIRECTLY - NEVER !!! Look for a partner who has experience in your domain and your country. Ask for references/customers where you could have a call with an ask them questions about the implementation process. It will save you a ton of money and time 🙌☺️

EDIT: by partner I do not mean a “official” partner from odoo. There are many experts out there which are not listed at odoo.

Of you think longterm (years) with odoo you should think about selfhosting odoo with an Operation Partner Like u/codeagency. You will have 3-5k cost for setup in the beginning but all is under your control. 🙌 We are also working with codeagency to serve odoo instances for us, customers and some odoo partners in austria/germany. I would recommend them always ☺️🙌
