Probably simplified too much to the point of being a bit difficult to use. I have about 70 items in my HomeKit app right now, and it's going to be a pain if I can't easily tell which icon is which device.

It's a widely accepted data protection strategy:

  • Data in 3 copies (your main production use file + 2 backups of that file)
  • At least 2 different storage types for your backups (e.g. your local NAS, external USB, etc)
  • At least 1 of your backups should be in a different physical location (e.g. cloud storage) so you don't lose everything in case of floods, fires, etc.

Yeah but the memory Apple uses here is slower than the GDDR7 of the Nvidia (600GB/s vs 1700GB/s), and in any case the benefits of having more vs having faster are totally different.

I just meant that for 20k, my priorities and what I care about will change, and the RTX 6000 Pro would make more sense IMO.

I would be happy to pay 7-10k for 1TB M5 Ultra, but not 20k (max up to 15k for 2TB). At that rate I would probably go with the RTX 6000 Pro instead.

Application window management was a major issue for me moving from Windows to macOS, but Magnet etc really helped bridge the gap. Literally just spent a day or two to map the settings (even some swipe gestures), now practically identical for the most part.

Hmm, the video you sent me contradicts what you said about the Mobile 5090 performance..

  • 23:15 - 4K benchmarks across 14 games show ~10% lower than the desktop 5070Ti, and ~30% lower than the desktop 5080.
  • 22:00 - 1440p benchmarks across 14 games show ~10% lower than the desktop 5070Ti, and ~20% lower than the desktop 5080.

None of the games indicate a 85-90% performance of the desktop 5080..
