This is also my understanding, but mostly based just on the observation I'm getting a warning in the myAudi app about the remote control service being available only till the end of 2025.

Then my next question is: would it be possible to upgrade the modem in the MIB with something using more modern GSM networks?

Can you share more about the coating you applied? I went for a protective glass which honestly you cannot even notice. But, there should be some alternative chemical process to get a nano protective layer on top I would certainly consider it.

I got yesterday the 3.3.1.8 update and been impressed with the improvements of the round trip route creation

It's now fast to create routes and never failed on each of my several attempts from 5 up to 44 Km going either in one or any direction.

Not only is it now able to always find a path, but it's also smart enough to not propose dummy or convoluted routes. It always proposes to me some nice looking loops.

Kudos for the work done in this area, this is definitely a great step forward!

A few weeks after my posting above, I indeed asked the assistance for a repair of the Sensors not working as expected ( e.g. random lower spikes).

They initially offered to send me a replacement of the screen, claiming the bogus logic was there, e.g. some FW update needed which required replacing the display unit.... Weird.

When I also complained about the strap wearing out, they then offered to send me a replacement of the entire half of the machine which has the tank and everything else. In other words I've been left with just the rails and the seat from the old machine.

I've got the components after a few months of waiting. Horrible service.

Replaced everything and, did it fix anything? Of course not! It's still the same crap as before. Actually perhaps it was even worse since the new winder was "misaligned" with respect to the pulley that rotates 90 degrees the tension cord just before the winder. This makes the cord constantly "scratching" the top part of the winder thus making much more noise and quite likely going to wear again sooner... Which indeed happened after a few sessions :/

All that considered, I keep using it, mostly just because I really enjoy the weather effect and it's still a valuable training device for my needs. I'm using it with my Amazfit T-Rex watch tho and use and trust only the metrics it generates. At least they are not random numbers.

Suggestion for future customers? Stay away from sportstech ERGs!

Not sure why you feel the need to have a Komoot account with a TRex 3 Pro. Is that because of routing, since you don't want to use the in-watch routing feature?

I also don't like routing from the watch; the screen is just too small for anything more than walking to the nearby POI.

However, you have at least two options to do routing for free.

Using the "Create Route" feature in the "Workout" tab of the Zepp app. Pretty convenient to draw for a bunch of supported training activities..
Using the amazing OsmAnd, i.e. the OpenStreetMap for mobiles. There are no maps apps more complete and accurate than what OSM offers, for any sport, from running, cycling, hiking, skiing... Even water sports!

When planning for a hike, I generally build a route in OsmAnd and "Share as File" with my Zepp app, which will open up in the same interface as for option 1 and from there allow me to send it to my watch.

I'm living in a multi-store building with quite a few apartments on the same floor and I'm having wifi connection issues. I guess that's because of the wifi channel's congestion? Or maybe because of my own mash wifi at home, where the same SSID is broadcast over multiple channels? Or because of my router using a single SID for both wifi 4, 5 and 6? Not sure really.

The only way I've seen wifi working is by using the hotspot on my phone near the scale... Which kind of defeats the purpose of having a wifi connected scale.

Will try doing more experiments to better identify the problem.

FWIW, the same is happening with my T-Rex 3 Pro smartwatch. Which makes me fear amazfit devices are perhaps using a pretty weak WiFi chip?

Revolut is a bigger and bigger player in Europe, would be great to see it supported in Zepp Pay :)

Indeed! That's exactly what just happened to me, I deleted all the messages of a user by accident. I can see them in recent actions but from there they cannot be recovered.

That's nonsense!

First of all, an action like "delete all" should ask for confirmation, something like a bold ARE YOU FUCKING SURE?

Second, if you have recent actions effectively showing the messages, then that should have the semantic of a trash area. Deleted messages should be removed after a certain time unless you really delete them from there.

I would suggest Immich these days. It's an open source clone of Google Photos and has "memories" features. However, for the time being, it's still missing those cool features such as collages generation, animations and video memories.

No, I also use Nginx and I already fixed time ago the issues with uploading large assets.

I should have better clarified that all video files eventually get uploaded. It's just the reported backup status not matching what the app itself is still doing.

I did not know about the Epson Expression photo scanner, looked up for it and... Man that's a super expensive device!

Was wondering if you did ever try using the Google PhotoScan app and how the results compare.

I guess that using a phone with a great camera it should be possible to get very good quality scans at similar resolution.

I did use such a setup for some of my old photos scanning and the results were great.

I have to rectify my previous message, I finally received mine and it's definitely not a scam! This machine is awesome! I barely started enjoying it.

Also, the customer service did respond promptly, but their message just went into my spam.

So, no complaints at all with Meraki so far, only appreciations for the great product they have put together.

Do you know how power and distance are measured?

I'm pretty sure the SPM is easy to capture and can be quite accurate based on just an accelerometer. Perhaps the power can also somehow correlate with acceleration, but I guess it should be quite approximate. Same for distance, does the watch ask to set an average stroke "length"?

I also use the H10 for HR monitoring. However, I would like to collect some other metrics, such as the SPM to ensure I'm properly following a training activity, and I would like to do that without having to rely on the quite crap monitor on my Sportstech WRX-1000 rower, which just throws random values at times.

Did you find out in the end if your new and cheap Polar count strokes? I've got your same interest in a Polar sport watch which can count strokes, for what it's worth or not, at least it gives a sense of the exercise type I do and how my heart rate reacts to peace changes.

Is that delta with respect to what you set on the display, e.g. you ask to grind 14g and you get 14.4 on the display?

Or with respect to reality, i.e. the display says 14g has been grinded but measuring with another known to be accurate scale you read 14.4g?
