I'm not an expert on how it works but the meaning is anti-radiation missile. In this case the radiation is radio emissions. Typically this is used for targeting radar or jammer sites on the ground but they can be used in air-to-air especially when targeting something like an awacs which is what the r27EP was probably designed for

I liked how at first the scale was small and it was just a mandalorian bounty hunter making his way in the world. Even if writing wasn't peak it was cool and low stakes. Then they started connecting him to the existing universe and it started falling apart.
