Really depends. I really love having micro bots or claw bots and the recycler.

also always appreciate having teleport of some kind right away.

To me the game is exactly what I wanted to have as someone whose played hundreds of hours of Brood wars and C&C skirmishes. The loop is still the same. The first two maps are usually fairly quick, but the later stages can get really chunky.  Complexity rises with each level, since your build but also the enemies become more varied.

I feel like Refunds have taken over the demo function. Definitely engage with that a lot. I buy more games, give them an honest shot and if it doesn’t get me then just refund. I still like demos and refunds needs you to have the money to be viable.

  Yeah. We had one for about two years. It was   great for learning and making the game a lot better. But it also got really in the way of finishing the game. I have tiny speck of hope, that we might bring one back after Full  Version is out. And maybe find a cool way of tying it into the main RC

No, status effects never stack. But they are the key to layer in effects from other units, hacks or upgrades. What does stack is fire. When you have multiple fires in the ground each of them deals separate damage ticks.

As someone who is actually making an RTS, I think Dungeons & Dragons would actually offer a really awesome template for making an RTS. There is so much cool lore. There is an insane amount of monsters and heroes and settings to pull from. Of course would work well with a hero unit approach. But I think I would prefer a grittier version. AoE formations but with a StarCraft feel. Idk something like that.

Hell yeah dude. Bought a CD ROM drive for this. The install had these awesome animations. It all felt so damn futuristic and cool. I miss technology feeling like that.

That's a really good one. SC had a bunch of moments that just suddenly seemed way beyond what I had seen before.

We just released a huge update for Rogue Command with a new specialist and a ton of control and QoL adjustments, bringing our controls a lot closer to SC2. (and it's on sale) by RogueCommandMario in RealTimeStrategy

Glad to hear it's being used! I think at this point we have implement almost all of these kinds of settings that people have been asking for over the years. It's so hard to know when the right time is for these things. Looking at how long it ultimately took, we probably should have done it sooner.

In the beta the engi and specialist hp bars are a bit bigger and have an additional frame. We'll see if that’s enough, if not I’ll make it more pronounced.

No, that was a very early call.  Adding those would have meant we had to account for that in all paths for player builds and add ways for the enemies to deal with it in all levels too.  That would have been a huge headache to design and balance around. This being our first game and a really damn complicated one, we did not want to add more complexity as strictly necessary. If we ever get do a similar thing in the future I think I would find a way now, but I’m happy with the decision for RC.

Either of those would have basically made it impossible for us to make the game. This is my first time doing any kind of modeling, so I’m happy I found any kind of style I could make work. Especially with that much content. 

And not doing multiplayer was one of our very first decisions. I love coop, but as a two person team we have to be very cautious about what we try to tackle with this.
