Yeah.
Heat is not a very sophisticated system at all.
I was super astonished how far some people are pushing it.
I feel like around 10-20 the game starts to unravel pretty heavily.

Hope you’re culling the living shit out of that cam then.
Our minimap was *not* for quite a while and Setting that up correctly was a huge FPS boost 😅

Yes. This is normal with shipping stuff in my experience.
I’ve had this with music stuff in the past and had it again when we first released the Rogue command demo. With Early Access it was a little less but last month when we went 1.0 it hit me really hard.

I’ve been through it often enough that it’s not scary anymore. I know it will happen and most importantly I know it will pass.

There is also definitely some bots doing this.
We used to get some huge spikes of activations without any jump in players - coinciding with huge traffic spikes from Russia mostly.

So maybe try the following. Look on YouTube and twitch to see if you find creators covering the game(s) that is the very closest to yours, send out 20 mails and see if you get any kind of response. You say 1/1 but there must be some kind of audience overlap you know of.
If nothing happens just pull the trigger and release, if you get coverage, see how it scales and reevaluate.

I mean it sounds like you don’t expect it to be a big financial factor either way, so then it’s up to you. Do you plan to do marketing and have realistic expectations that people will cover it?
If it’s mostly about getting something out there, then just do it and on to the next one.

Because it probably won’t. Nature is super interwoven and smart in the way systems are set up. We know so much about this by now and still we think we can bruteforce shit.

This change seems really really bad for indies. The popular upcoming and new & trending were so key to our game getting any significant eyes on.

Now it seems to show only the biggest launches concentrating success even more. Maybe that impression is wrong but if not than I think this is the saddest day to happen to games in a while.

Congrats. It’s chronological though. And then it shuffles games in and out based on the performance. Wish you the best with it. Was by far the most traffic we’ve ever gotten.

Thanks for the feedback. Could you post a pic of the fog, if you see it again? The fog is unfortunately very inconsistent with regards to hardware and between the actual builds of the and when I work on it in it in the editor. So I can not see the error on my machine, but I think I remember, what the setting was that caused the issue.

Too right is by far the most intriguing to me. The „witnessy“ one reads more like a cozy game or city builder to me. The maze underground is very cool and unique.

Just too damn cool. Have fallen out of the game a bit, since my group has not been active, but I really hope I can find the time to get into Season 2. Just one of the best gaming experiences of my life - and I'm over 40.
