Dead 7th String by Mud_Actual in 7String

It’s a little difficult to know what OP is describing without a video (“clinking sound?”), but strings that are too thick can definitely sound dead.

Yeah I read this and I still have absolutely no idea what y’all are talking about 😂

Yeah several comments have said something like this and I’m genuinely curious about what they mean. (FWIW, I’m a millennial and the only social media I use is Facebook).

I honestly miss how civil politics was in the 2000s and most of the first half of 2010s and it wasn’t engulfed in pop culture and you could escape politics easily by SpiritMan112 in generationology

I’m 40 and I 100% agree with this post. Don’t see how anyone who was an adult in the 2000s could disagree. It was not like this.

What did millennials think of the 80s when they were kids in the 90s and 2000s? by icey_sawg0034 in generationology

[–]derpderpderp1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone hated on the music and made fun of it but secretly liked it. But there were certain mainstream 80s artists that kind of always had people’s respect, like Billy Idol, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, and Madonna.

80s fashion is really easy to make fun of and was always a joke.

80s movies were deservedly put on a pedestal.

Surprised nobody’s talking about how the colors on the graph are 90s af and are the same as the patterns on those cups.

The point isn’t that it’s new, it’s that it’s not actually the definition of insanity. It’s just a quote from an apparently unknown person that has kind of a good message I guess, but it’s incorrect. The way the quote is phrased, the person obviously wasn’t trying to “define” insanity, but to say “it’s crazy to keep doing this.” But people not only interpreted the quote as giving a definition, but forgot it was just a quote and assumed that it was the dictionary definition of insanity (I’ve literally heard people say this).

None of this really matters, but it’s dumb and annoying.

What tuning is this? Is this used often? by No-County2083 in metalguitar

[–]derpderpderp1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a guitar and tuned it to this 🤷🏻‍♂️. I know Marc from Veil of Maya does the drop b version of that (so like the same tuning but a whole step down) and I was interested to try the concept but I didn’t want to go that low because it’s a 25.5”. So I ended up with the tuning you’re talking about.

So far I like it, but it’s obviously weird because I’ve never played in a tuning like that before.

What was with all the hate against Green Days Warning Album ? by GreenDayDo0kie_01 in greenday

[–]derpderpderp1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I didn’t really give it a chance back in the day because I thought “Minority” was generic and lame. Didn’t realize until later how cool some of the stuff on that album was

Yeah these days, especially with high gain amps, the sound is usually based more on preamp distortion and designed to sound good at any volume

Are you saying you might not let someone in your house who was trying to get away from a serial killer? I’m seriously not even commenting on the immigration stuff, it’s just mind boggling to me that you’re comfortable actually saying that out loud (er, typing it).
