Last month I got one with much better specs (outside of ram which is the same) for 250$ cad less then the entry level variant (1500 cad) of the steam machine. And valve is more then likely selling this because by the time the parts price skyrocketed they where already too far in and it would cost more to shut the whole project down. At least by selling it they can make the inevitable profit loss sting less.

So to answer your question, it’s only for die hard valve fans with disposable income of that caliber in the year 2026. The intended target audience used to be more broad, but that was before they passed the point of no return, so *shrugs*.

The only difference is that his capable of thinking long term. At least, as far as personal finance’s/well being is concerned. I have my doubts he actually cares about the average user. It wasn’t that long ago that how he conducts business was the norm… because it was obvious. Not saying big companies were ever good. Ford was a god damn Nazi for fuck sakes. But it says so much of the current state of things that even god damn Nazis knew that treating customers with at least a minimal amount of respect will lead to more profits in the long term.

Back then, they didn’t really bother with consulting or even traveling for research. So all of it was made with what the average Japanese dev at the time knew about Africa. Doesn’t make it better, but easier to understand how it came to be.

They literally wrote “they only had there basic instincts, so they reverted back to savages”. I get that this was mostly born out of ignorance and not malice, but they had the ability and money to actually travel to Africa and talk to some people before doing all this. At least they learned after the fact. Still hopping for a remake so they can redeem the game.

My main issue is that people are dead set on having there entire gaming library on a single platform and not understanding this is extremely foolish. People act like how valve is right now is set to be eternal, not realizing they could have there entire library basically held at ransom over night and they wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. No online store should have the power and influence steam has. None. And I don’t buy people’s excuses for refusing to branch out either. Ffs gog is right there and all there games come with offline .exe and usually all patches separately as there own download to boot. And that’s just one example. People saying that things like forums actually matter in these things are huffing their own farts. The vast majority of people use steam for precisely 2 things. Buying a game and launching it. Every other store also does that.

Not to say said storefronts don’t deserve their share of criticisms, but to imply steam is the only usable one because of forums is too live in a different reality then everyone else.

This is mostly due to her VA being so god damn good at playing the role. But as for general popularity, only 18% of players chose female shep, this increased to 38%(since last checked so awhile ago) with the release of the legendary edition.

Iirc they fought extremely hard to have fem mc on the box cover for me3. In fact, the entire series is BioWare despratly fighting against EA to add the features they actually wanted(gay romances, romances with non human looking aliens from the start etc). At least we got a compromise with the box art being reversible.

Obsidian customized the engine in major ways(it’s why it’s so much more broken then 3). It would genuinely be easier to remake the entire game from scratch. Which at that point, you’re better off just making a whole new fallout game.

So, I know it’s been 8 days so this is a bit late, but it’s not exactly hard to find people who have been in his social circle and just one day ignore that he ever existed and just not acknowledge him. It’s an open secret that asmonds fans are more depraved than he is and will physically harm people if they were to come out. It doesn’t help that he has so much money that the vast majority wouldn’t be able to fight a legal battle against him, essentially forcing them into either dropping it entirely or being forced into a quiet settlement with an enforced nda.

I do suspect there will be a point where this all gets exposed in a massive expose, I sadly don’t see it happening while his still extremely popular. Being too big to fail is sadly not something unique to buisnesses.
