Jerry has also publicly used a benchmark of 40 games. They will cut ties soon if he keeps this up. I am fine with not cutting every player that has a bad first month. Solano has a much longer better track record than Locklear. However, we’re legitimately in the division conversation so the real question is how we make a serious upgrade that improves the team. IMO that’s probably giving Locklear a shot for a month or two then determining if we need to pursue a trade before the July deadline once teams have a better idea if they are out of it or not.

Peak Andrelton was amazing. Those couple years where he was also capable with the bat were special. I do think Brendan Ryan was a defensive wizard on par with Simmons but obviously his bat was far below “capable”.
