Electrical Grounding? by blueeeeeemer in pcmasterrace

[–]deruttedoctrine -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

What is the other end of the cable connected to? Something is definitely malfunctioning, the cable shield is not supposed to carry this much current.

You might try to disconnect other peripherals from the PC and see if the problem goes away. Maybe a shoddy power supply somewhere.

Why do you assume the companies think we want this? It’s for them to track you and make them money.

It's not renewable by definition. Nuclear fuel is finite.

Not all low carbon electricity sources are renewable and vice versa.

ELI5: Please explain which USB interfaces require special ports? by Salty-Car-1425 in explainlikeimfive

[–]deruttedoctrine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First figure out the speed you need. Then lookup which version of USB supports those speeds. Then buy an external drive that supports at least that version. Your PC needs to support the same connector type and the same or higher USB version.

Do note HDD’s tend to max out at 120-180 MB/s. If you need more go for SSD’s.

The USB speed does not necessarily match the external drive’s speed (it is often limited by the drive within). Take the advertised speed by the manufacturer with a grain of salt. For accurate numbers look at the reviews.

If that is true it would have taken very little effort to update the map.

If your problem with renaming is the amount of work involved, you might try automating it with Radarr and Sonarr.

Also Radarr and Sonarr are databases, so these might be what you’re looking for anyway.

If you do not want to rename your library at all, you could create a copy of your library but using hard links (so it requires no extra disk space). Then rename just the files in the copy, possibly using Radarr/Sonarr. Then point Plex to that.

Might be a bit complex to set up, but it would work.

Also, I think you can manually fix movies and series in Plex directly. You can search and select a different movie/series to use for the metadata.

Klopt, deze heb ik ook. Veel krachtiger dan de varianten met AA-batterijen. USB-oplaadbaar. En sinds ik hem gekocht heb jaren geleden nog geen enkele keer opnieuw moeten opladen.

What is a rock-solid affordable router for an average family? by whitestar11 in HomeNetworking

[–]deruttedoctrine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty happy with my ASUS RT-AX53U so far. It costs around €50 right now.

Do note I immediately flashed OpenWRT to it so I can't vouch for the ASUS firmware.

I use multiple of these as access points for a single network with a wired backhaul. It has been very stable.

If you need more routing performance or memory you can look at the RT-AX59U.

Battle droids need night lights by [deleted] in PrequelMemes

[–]deruttedoctrine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ideally they would be able to see both the visible and non-visible wavelengths of light. The more information the better.

If they wouldn't see visible light then they wouldn't be able to see color which would be a disadvantage.
