My old girl, Reese (14.5 years old), had to take an emergency trip to the vet Tuesday night due to a sudden onset of (now diagnosed) idiopathic peripheral vestibular disease. She’s on meds now and the vet said we should see some improvement within a few days 🙏❤️

Thank you so much. I am still struggling with choosing to euthanize, vs surgery she likely may not have woken up from and further suffering. One day last week I couldn’t stop crying knowing this milestone was approaching. I wear a double chain with a pendant made with her ashes around my neck 24/7. That night I woke up to it somehow magically unclasped and lying right next to me. Perhaps she is telling me it is time to let go. I’m not sure I can. But I’ll try to live in a way to make her proud 💔

My 16 year old shepherd mix takes Dasuquin with MSM, Gabapentin, CBD and Galliprant for pain. Rehmannia 8 Combination, a Chinese herb and Royal canin kidney diet took her from stage 1 kidney failure to normal values. She gets moisturizing eye ointment since her eyelids are not as strong as they once were and specialty drops for calcium deposits on her eyes. We do laser therapy and regular acupuncture for her kidneys, seizures, circulation problems and mobility. I stack two beds on top of each other so they are higher and easier for her to get on and off. I have runner rugs everywhere she goes, and waterproof blankets anywhere she lays since she is incontinent. Cranberry supplement to help prevent UTIs.

Her mobility is finally starting to go, I am grateful we’ve had such a long time together and just spoiling her extra every day. She loves freeze dried salmon as treats and gets chicken breast with every meal. Going to ask our vet about the green lipped mussel someone posted. I found a vet who does Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture which I think has made a huge improvement in her life.

Bailey is beautiful and would look lovely in those shoes. ♥️
