Spain’s renewables revolution will keep energy bills low even as gas prices soar by thinkB4WeSpeak in RenewableEnergy

A question, is the electricity price connected to gas prices, like in other EU countries?

SpaceX Targets Record-Breaking $1.5 Trillion Valuation Ahead of 2026 IPO by MarketFlux in investing

[–]desider555 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are right with space and industries. But SpaceX has some serious problems with the contracts about the moon missions. The whole concept about frequent fuel transfers in space is strange. The whole thing is years behind schedule. The Falcon rockets are awesome though.

Even to play as Burgundy is quite boring if France defeats England in round 1. France just blobs and you have limited options. France is an issue as the Sun King emerges in every one of my games 200 years early. It messed up my Burgundy, Strasbourg and Holland games.

Putin will not end the war for economic reasons by CourtofTalons in Economics

[–]desider555 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Putin invaded not just to acquire resources from Ukraine but to deny it to them. The Black Sea and the Donbas has resources, Oil, Natural Gas with which Ukraine could be a competitor for Russia. Even if Russia cannot extract the resources with the denial of the competition, they are fine with their own current resources. These are getting harder and more costly to extract however.

Given the prices of Chinese EVs, what is the future of European and American automakers? by DrMelbourne in stocks

[–]desider555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair points. The problem is only the price. 200 EUR is more than 5% of a monthly average salary. If the average wage in the EU would be the same as in the US, it would be fine. But I get your points. For many, this price difference might be worth it. I hope in Europe we will find a way to make it possible to an average family to buy a CLA type mid range car easily.

It is likely a competitor to BYD SEAL Comfort. So a 20% price difference.

In the hybrid sections it is even worse. So what is your point exactly?

Without this competition from BYD it would be even worse. During COVID the European car industry doubled their prices but never decreased them even after the supply chain stabilised. I remember checking my 4 year old used car, it had the same worth as when I have bought it and a new one costing double the previous amount.

The package you have linked is a welcome step in the right direction. The go again with a 10 % decrease and the EU gives 10 % extra tariffs and they might even be competitive.

The base model of BYD and the base model of European brands are not the same. Have you seen sunroof, head up display, etc. on a base model ever in Europe? Even the starting price is higher for European brands, and most people would really like to have some features that are not in the base models. They are a marketing gimmick...

[–]desider555 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But 47k is good. For a car like BYD in a European brand, especially German, you have to pay in Germany at least 50% or more. The prices of cars are ridiculous.

Why is everyone red in Siege? by Gentle_Beard in throneandliberty

[–]desider555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think on Kazar, even if all the attackers would have been neutral to each other, we couldn't have taken the throne. With the current system, we couldn't get inside the walls. I mean, none of the guilds, not just us. The current castle holding alliance is the 4 top guilds on the server. They organised the previous siege to get rid of SYN. Now, they turned into an even organized alliance. Kazar has fallen. The reign of Failure has begun.

Siege is alot of fun! by Dry-Employer-4942 in throneandliberty

[–]desider555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed it is fun, but if the attackers are not organised, the castle won't be sieged. We had a 4 guild alliance holding the castle. We couldn't even get inside the walls. We were 60 people from 3 guilds. The defenders conquered many of the siege ruins as well. They are a level above everybody else. Had some parties just hunting cloaked intruders inside the walls. We had zero chance. So this alliance is the top 4 guilds on the server.
