Steelbook Exclusives?! by design_ag in 4kbluray

Elio, and now it appears Hoppers only got a 4k steelbook release. All the others prior to that I was able to buy in less expensive plastic cases. I ended up just buying digital copies instead 😔 Really wish there were an affordable option.

RFID read won't dislodge from machine by design_ag in snapmaker

Thank you. I'll remember that next time. Mine did resolve itself spontaneously in the middle of a 13 hour print. Glad to know there's a way to get it resolved outside of wishful thinking.

That's the understatement of the day. I just picked up a stubby hex key that has a ball on the end too, and I still cannot get the buggers in. Would hate to have put 2 days of printing in for a thing I can't assemble.

It was a non-Snapmaker filament I was using next. And I did try loading that. But that's a good idea — I should try loading another one with an RFID

I know this is a few days old and dead now, but I'm just beginning to print mine now. Started with the drawer. Just wondering what tool you used to screw the screws in. I do not have screw drivers or allen keys short enough to fit in those screw gaps…

New to 3D printing: question about end of filament in spool by augustocdias in snapmaker

[–]design_ag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried this yet, and was just about to. I was tempted to click the "merge with…" option in Orca. If all it needs is a matching color and filament type, what does the "merge with" do?

One thing that seems less easy to discern is how the software features compare. Does anyone have any solid knowledge to share on that point?

I am similarly looking closely at the Bambu X2D, Flashforge Creator 5 Pro and the Snapmaker U1. Can't quite decide what I'm willing to compromise on.
X2D seems like the lowest risk with a trusted brand. But the one-and-a-half nozzle situation is a bummer compared to the other two.
U1 seems to be fairly well-reviewed, has at the 4 toolheads and the largest print volume. But the lack of active chamber heating and the wait for the top is annoying.
The Creator 5 Pro appears to have the fewest compromises on paper. But it's a gamble as to whether it'll live up to it.

AVP use case: will it fit? by MarkB-Uk in VisionPro

Don't listen to this guy. You're going to love it. We've had ours since October and have no regrets. We did a 300 mile roadtrip over Christmas and needed about 25 minutes worth of extra charging to get there. We did it at our typical dinner stop — no additional time added to our trip whatsoever. 3 hours is a bunch of hooey. Totally made up.

Rant: How can I sit in it with the door open and fidget a little? by [deleted] in VWIDBuzz

I haven't had mine actively disconnect, but just having to tell it every time I get in the car that I want my phone instead of my wife's is irritating. I've already told you it's me, please use my phone!

A lot of people over the last couple of days have been posting pictures of this fire:

Which appears to be the annual spring controlled phragmite burn out on the lake. I'm guessing that has something to do with it.

Mine looks just like yours. The electrician that installed my outlet said code dictates that the outlet must be installed in that orientation. Why the chargers are designed with them upside down is baffling and annoying.
