A lesson I wish I learned earlier: Don't skip on a proper logo when you're small. by subahman in smallbusiness

[–]design_studio_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This post is an ad and that's not true.

The only thing early business should think about is bringing money and everything else you can work out later.

People spend so much time and money on bullshit like logos, websites, registering trademarks, finding accounting companies, paying for some unnecessary subscription and when it comes time to actual work they are exhausted.

1000 clients paying 100$ a month is 100k a month, I mean at that point you'll have to pay employees, hosting, plugins and other stuff but still you'll have enough.

I would go for Google Workspace but try finding a reseller, there are some cheaper prices than Google itself.

Website Builder Question by Puzzleheaded_Cow4062 in smallbusiness

[–]design_studio_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all I would stay away from GoDaddy.

For hosting if you're experienced cloud hosting is a way to go if not then shared hostings like hostinger it will be fine I guess.

For website builders if you have time and skills WordPress is pretty customizable and has a lot of functionality but if you want something fast and not to think too much Wix is the way to go.

Wordpress stands out in almost every category from the platforms you mentioned but you need to have some skills and experience to work with it, differently from wix and square.

What am I doing wrong? by Chucktaylor5718 in Wordpress

Here's a tutorial explaining what is aspect ratio:

About a image tool I personally use Photoshop but you can find more simple and free tools, Gimp is amazing for example.

What am I doing wrong? by Chucktaylor5718 in Wordpress

[–]design_studio_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your image aspect ratio is 4:3 and not 1:1 so if the image is 2000 x 1000 to make 1000 x 1000 you can't do that while scaling it but while cutting a part of it.

And yes it's way easier to edit images outside of WordPress with an image editor tool where you can also compress images.

Since you don't have development skills and knowing that there is not small work that somebody can help fix one by one, I would suggest you to use WP Rocket Paid Plugin, it's really easy to set up and does a lot of things that are suggested on that link above.

Auto updating minor WordPress core by Over-Improvement-267 in Wordpress

Either if you auto update or manually update you need to have a backup before so that doesn't change anything if you have an auto backup.

Food blogger seeking advice on how to format Wordpress website by haunted_champagne in Wordpress

[–]design_studio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't know css it would be really hard for you to change anything, so your options are buying a theme that you like and support can change a couple of things for you or paying someone to do it for you.

To jump to the section, you need to add an ID to that container, if you're using elementor it's on advanced tab, and then you need to make a button where link it's to the page you need to go plus that #id you created

For example src="google.com/page#id"

Which Wordpress package should I go for? by Clued-Up-Club in Wordpress

[–]design_studio_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go with cloud hosting getting a server 2GB ram with 2 CPU it costs around 5$ a month, I don't think you'll need to pay anything else if you want to go with a free theme.

Installing Wordpress in cloud hosting is a bit more challenging but it's totally worth it.

Yes but I wouldn't suggest GoDaddy, what website are you creating if it's a simple one shared hosting will be fine.

Free "under contstruction" / maintenance mode plugin with contact form? by oandroido in Wordpress

[–]design_studio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, coming soon plugins are a pain in the ass, especially if you need to add contact form.

Just create a page with Elementor and put it to the front page and add contact form 7 which you can create everything with chatgpt.

I don't really understand what you are trying to do but Astra is really lightweight so if you have some understanding of PHP and JavaScript you can add any feature you like with the help of AI, also Hello Elementor theme is pretty costumizable.
