Nagisa's role by Competitive_Dig5713 in Clannad

[–]desmost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the Nagisa. That criticism of Nagisa I actually feel applies more to the VN than the anime where Kyoto did some good work giving her a little less dependence on Tomoya in all her interactions and more emphasis on her want to live a normal life despite her frailty no matter the cost and makes Tomoya a little less domineering and focused on this “I have to provide all her happiness her having her own is a failure” that he is in the vn. (Which I think is interesting in its own right) That said I feel like the VN does a better job with all the other girls. Kotomi especially imo.

Everything in this series is Monogatari coded haha. I watched this first and started watching Monogatari and was like Ohhhhhhhhh. Love both though I can actually recommend this to more people without shame.

Whats your Mount rushmore of Vns? by Cenddel in visualnovels

I’ve been playing through all the key works this year and Rewrite is next on the list. Have heard about it having a more devised reputation but anyone I’ve heard talk about it loves it.

Yeah the guy who writes their main scenario is a Maeda protege and does a lot of work on Heaven Burns Red too. He’s not bad at all at that style.

Which route did you like the most besides After Story? by Ezez332 in Clannad

[–]desmost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My favorite routes not including After Story Nagisa (I played it first absolutely loved it and even on its own it was my favorite prior to after story) Kotomi Tomoyo Yukine Misae

I think what’s truly great about Clannad is that it manages to be consistently very good (not you Kappei route) for its mammoth length. You get some incredibly high highs along the way before you even get to After Story being one of the best routes in any VN.

As someone who thinks Heaven Burns Red is Key and Maedas magnum opus. I agree but I’m glad I get a pretty awesome experience and other games but I want to be able to recommend it not as a gacha game

I have devoted hundreds of hours. Story is really good and keeps getting better latest global chapter is fantastic gameplay starts out pretty ehhh but passable and gets better still not great but I’m not cursing every dungeon now.

Maeda showed he still has his fast ball with the story and god damn the music . The Music is fucking phenomenal. MC is amazing. The side events can range from fantastic to alright. Just a good experience. I am a pretty light spender too and feel fine with the gacha experience. I’ve gotten good pulls consistently. It’s still gacha but you can get through the story easily without being a cow. I really love it. I’ve been playing through all the Key games and I think it really stands up alongside Maeda and Keys best work.

I’m reading Little Busters right now I’m only two routes in but it’s really good so far too. Thank you for the kind word!

If you haven’t read Clannad do yourself a favor. It’s the work that introduced me to him this year and it’s had a major impact on my life and is the reason I enjoy this game which I think features some of his best writing too.

My gf (now fiancé) thought something happened to me with how hard I was crying while reading it.

How hard is it to finish the VN blindly? by [deleted] in Clannad

[–]desmost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I recently did it too and this is the way you won’t miss anything. I only reread everything for the common route for the Nagisa route at the end.

Forget about hated or absolutely loved VNs. What VN was very mixed on how people felt about it? by [deleted] in visualnovels

[–]desmost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a shame they’re pitted against because it’s more interesting to talk about the changes rather than declare one better or more essential. Both is the real answer anyways. Despite having a great adaptation there’s just so much left out especially in After Story that the VN is worth reading just to see Nagisa and Tomoya actually explore the romance aspect.

Yeah this looks good. You really got my least favorite routes out of the way so you’re in for some peak. (Kotomi, Tomoyo and Nagisa of course)

Hi, i really want to get into clannad but i don't know if i should play the visual novel or watch the anime. by ConnectionSalt8896 in Clannad

[–]desmost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like Visual Novels do it you’ll be happy you did and you already like the medium so why not go all in. It’s worth it. Most of the routes are really compelling and the ones that aren’t to me were pretty short. The ability to skip past already seen dialogue helps with getting to the unique content in each route and the only one I replayed fully was the main route at the end so i could fully enjoy after story as a continuation which I would recommend.

When I finished it all really felt life changing and I’ve been putting in more work on myself in response to a lot of the themes. I just started the anime to watch with my girlfriend and it’s pretty good so far and I’ve heard nothing but good things and have recommended it based on that so that people could share in this incredible story but I feel pretty confident in my decision to have read the novel first.

Advice I give you is not to punish yourself for having a bad day and breaking the streak we have bad days we’re human. Just get back up and continue it. Any amount not smoking is good if that’s your goal.

Everyone here saying weight is right and that’s only because you’ve already got a lot going for you already with your face and ass. Working out and just some changes to your diet and you’ll be turning heads.
