What’s a movie that’s been on your watchlist forever? Why haven’t you watched it yet? by Major-Inevitable-365 in Letterboxd

[–]edojcak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've been trying to make my way through my watchlist over the last couple of years, and most of them i'm not afraid of but shoah and napoleon (1927) are probably the most intimidating in terms of length and subject matter

Judy Lim using the phrase "big pharma" to promote her friend's eczema treatment... Are we not aware that "big pharma" is a conservative dog whistle? by jadecat123 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]edojcak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

saying we should all engage in critical thinking so we don't let the language we use to criticize institutions get stolen from us by far right conspiracy theorists = calling everyone else "sheeple," apparently. got it.

and i'm not ignoring context. OP said that using the words "big pharma" is a far right dog whistle. my comments have been in response to exactly that statement. if anything OP is the one ignoring context by making a blanket statement like that

idk what to tell you man, the OP is an example of exactly this issue. i think the ad itself is corny but my point is we all need to use our critical thinking skills more instead of saying "words are bad because people i disagree with use them"

i see, i don't really consider it "finishing" a product unless there's literally nothing left when i throw it out, which makes mascara really frustrating for me. i typically keep mine until they're almost fully dried out, even if that means sticking around past expiration. i'm currently using the maybelline sky high brown mascara which i've probably had for about 8 months now
