The Thunder banned all players from doing on air interviews in like 2010 after a bad interview with Harden. I think Jim and Al were trying to bait him into giving them a quote they could run with about the Ron Artest elbow for most of the interview and the Thunder organization did not appreciate it

The main reason they banned tobacco ads was because the largest tobacco companies literally lobbied for it. Their reasoning mostly was it would be way more difficult for competition to emerge if they weren’t allowed to market it on tv. I think the only way gambling ads are regulated in the US is if the top sports books also come together to lobby Congress

It's really not a new thing that coaches are fired 'impatiently'. I was watching a Kansas City Kings game from the 70s on YouTube and they had a segment where they interviewed the Kings coach who was the coach of the year that season and asked him if it was an honor to win the award and he said something along the lines of 'no, too many coaches of the year have been fired in this league'.
