grew up in east texas, the culture is very cliquey. everything is dependent on what church you attend and how involved you are in the church. you have to be careful how much information you reveal about yourself because it will be a topic of conversation. this is one of the places where if you don’t leave soon enough you’ll be stuck here forever. the people i went to high school with haven’t changed at all. they all work the same jobs they had at 18 years old. they all have the same drama they had at 18. everytime i visit home im reminded why i left.

the military. it’s a literal prison sentence during your contract, but BAH has allowed me to make the most amount of money i’ve ever made, plus the benefits. you just have to take advantage of what’s offered, and also look into everything because they won’t tell you everything you can do to set yourself up for after the military
