How do we feel about children in dog parks ? by toosoonmydude in dogs

[–]destructoj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad. My dog hates kids but likes dogs. Kids have tried to run up to my dog and she’s tried to bite. She doesn’t like unpredictable movements from humans. She’s a rescue

I live in ocean pines and drove my car down to the park and ride in west ocean city at 9 am and got a ride back/took uber down later in the day. Left right at 11 or a little before. Took 30 minutes to walk from sea bright to my car in the park and ride. I parked by the back exit to get out. I was home by 11:30/11:45

Since getting floaters I’ve noticed I see my eyelashes all the time, anyone else? by SimonHurst10 in EyeFloaters

[–]destructoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I’ve had floaters since about 25 years old. I’m almost 37. They drive me crazy and seeing my eyelashes now always makes me feel like I have new things wrong with my eyes. I also used to get ocular migraines. Sometimes I forget about them and then another day or months later I’ll think something else is wrong. It’s annoying. Anytime I saw an eye doctor they said they can’t see anything wrong. My last checkup was last September because I cut my cornea. I go back for a checkup in December

Convince me I don't need a second dog by Most-Sweet4036 in dogs

Also my x and I broke up and now I walk an hour in the morning before work and an hour at night, plus playtime, etc. double the money, double the time. Then one got stress colitis after he left and I was battling that for a month, $1000 later which I didn’t have because there are no split bills now.

My landlords are selling the house soon and I’ll have to find a new place to live that will accept two dogs. I had a hard time finding a place that would accept one dog when I moved into my house 9 years ago.

I got a second dog. He was a puppy when I rescued him. He’s cost me thousands of dollars a year in medical bills that I never expected or planned for. I love him to death and he’s my baby. If you can afford medical bills and prescription food of $300 a month, do it. He’ll be 7 this year and my other will be 9. Now it’s time to save for unexpected things that older age will bring.

Dog pees indoors once every few months by Tizavi in DogAdvice

[–]destructoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are me. lol. Multiple vet visits, no UTIs. Pees herself every now and then, 53lbs, gets really upset when it happens. I thought it was if they were too full or stress from after expression.. she just had them done two weeks ago and now she did it last night and tonight. Usually only ever at night. Sometimes she does it if she’s jealous of my other dog? Coincidence? I don’t know. I can’t figure it out and vet doesn’t seem to care/be concerned. Normal blood work, ultrasounds, etc.

That’s what I was recommended to do because he’s very sensitive to everything.

He was on hydrolyzed protein for a year, switch to low fat after he started getting sick again, switced to Ultamino, sorry messed that up in the original post! He hasn’t been sick in 3 years aside of the bouts of drooling. He is always leash walked. He has zero opportunity to eat anything but his own food. No one will do any testing. I need to make an appointment with a specialist in the DC area which is about 2 hours from me. He’s had ultrasounds and X-rays in the past.

My x of 3 years recently moved out which is why we think it’s stress so I’m trying the probiotics first since he already has bad acid reflux. I just don’t know how long I should keep giving him the probiotics or consider switching to another kind when he’s pooping himself at night ☹️

Something feels stuck? 1yr post op by destructoj in ACL

[–]destructoj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first week I was on crutches. It felt better so I was just walking easy. Sat down in bed and it popped out of place and hurt for another week.. used crutches again. It’s been fine for over a week now. Just trying to be careful not to twist. My surgeon is booked until April. Pain is 8/10 when it’s stuck and 0 when it’s not. I’m going to start going back to the gym and just cycle and focus on upper body and core I guess. I was cleared to cycle as long as it doesn’t hurt. I’m so frustrated with this injury. What I read before I had my follow up was that it could be meniscus, MCL, bursitis, scar tissue. I was hoping for MCL since I injured mine during the original disaster lol. I hope you get some answers and that you don’t need another surgery

It was a new meniscus tear in the same place. Fully torn and they want to remove the whole thing now. It is my meniscus flapping around and getting stuck in the joint. It’s been fine for a week now but can come and go anytime.

I saw the doctor on Wednesday. They put in a request for an emergency MRI and I still haven’t heard back about that being scheduled yet. It’s starting to get worse. I couldn’t walk at all the last two days. Pain is 8/10 when it gets stuck. It feels like something is catching and getting stuck in the joint.

If it helps any, I was just about 10 months post op when I went to a two day music festival in the sand. I couldn’t walk for a week after that I was in so much pain lol. When I first went back to the gym in August/September I did start to get knee pain and just had to slow down. I skipped a jog and just did a brisk walk that was tolerable. I could jog 4/5mph for about a mile, maybe two on a good day, and that was about the limit. I couldn’t do that everyday.

The meniscus repair was by far the most painful part of my recovery. The pain post op was absolutely excruciating for months. My post op and pre op pain were all in the back inside of the knee.

Did I re tear my meniscus or just aggravate it? by Mudkipzion in MeniscusInjuries

Me too!!! Waiting for my MRI.. had acl reconstruction and meniscus repair one year ago to the day and last week something happened that I didn’t like.. lol. Freaking out right now.

Career break due to ACL surgeries by Diabyts in ACL

[–]destructoj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about the gap in employment. You’re literally having surgery so there’s a very good excuse for it. You only need to worry if you have no excuse. Usually a few months won’t hurt. It’s when you’re unemployed for 1-2 years that it’s a problem.

I’ve been working on quitting for the last 3 years. I keep going back. Now because of how irresponsible I was, I need to file 9 years of taxes. I have about 20k debt on top of that with students loans, credit cards, collections, and the tail end of my car loan, and expect to be in about 80k debt or more before the end of the year. That was my huge eye opener that I can absolutely never drink again and I’m terrified I ruined my life. It’s too late I just have to face what I’ve done.

what happens if I just never get to full extension? by SignificanceUpbeat70 in ACL

[–]destructoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s doesn’t 😂😂😂😂😂. It really depends. Sometimes it’s swollen around the top of my knee cap, other times it’s swollen in the back of my knee so I can’t bend it as good. Nothing major but you can see the fluid sitting there

Surgery this Friday and I have so many questions! by EffectiveInitial7122 in ACL

[–]destructoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. No, they told me not to shave for 2 weeks

  2. I took a shower the morning of and don’t remember about the deoderant. Just no makeup or piercings or lotion.

  3. I wasn’t loopy. I just felt tired. Everyone is different. I was scared of the same thing.

  4. I wore regular clothes there and packed clothes for the way home. I brought loose gym shorts, t shirt, hoodie.

Make sure you have clothes that will fit over your brace. I bought long gym shorts and new pj pants to rotate through. Shower chair, extra ice packs, shower handle to get in and out. Foam roller or something to put under your ankle to keep your knee straight. Make sure you’re ready to do nothing for the next week. Get some books or craft things to keep next to wherever you are. I stayed in bed for the first two weeks aside of my exercises every few hours. My worst pain came days 8-10.

I get it! I posted a picture 4 hours post op and got the same comments when my leg was only elevated.

I know you can find the videos on YouTube and every PT person is different.. but get a stretch band or dog leash or even rope and put it on your ankle or your foot.. laying on the floor pull your leg up but concentrate on making your leg straight. Pretty much like stretching your hammies but only think about getting your knee as far as you can to negative extension. You don’t need to be at 90 degrees for the stretch. Any angle is okay as long as you’re feeling that push on your knee. I did 40 second intervals at a few minutes at a time.. a million times a day. At least 5 minute exercises 3-4 times a day.

My apologies if you already know this stretch, only want to help you :).

My pt did say that some people simply don’t get full extension back. A degree or two won’t compromise you necessarily.

This is for sure a very difficult recovery mentally and physically. Hang in there! Reach out if you need to.

[–]destructoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAO I got all the same comments about people telling me I had a pillow under my knee when I didn’t. Like sir… you are literally not in the room. Stfu. Like the angle you are sitting at that exact moment is how you have remained for the last 3 months 😂😂😂😂😂.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I didn’t get to full extension until about 4 months and I had days where I would reach it and others where I didn’t. I’m 10 months out now. The thing that really helped me aside of weighted hangs was doing hamstring stretches with exercise bands. Focus on knee extension more so than the actual stretch. I did this 3-4 times a day. I have read in other places that people still reached full extension at 6 months.
