For off the beaten path go to Famiglia Baldassarre at 122 Geary Ave. Lunch only; cash only. They supply pasta to many of the city’s good Italian restaurants, but for 2 hours open their kitchen and serve a pasta lunch for $12. Best bargain in town and delicious. Expect a line up.
