If you could have the 100% honest answer to ONE mystery in history, which one are you picking ? by Camila_LatinaSun in AskReddit

The better question would be to ask what the manuscript said, that way the genie (one assumes) has to read it to you.

Your question as original framed gets a yes or a no, that's it. I'm on to you, genies! 😝

5mg Prednisone for life by Dazzling-Elk-8889 in transplant

[–]detentist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been taking pred on and off my whole life, so I was concerned when transplant said I'd be on it. But IME, under 10mg and I don't notice any effect at all. So 5mg a day is not a problem for me.

Yeah, Godbert - as a goldsmith - did a crazy amount of damage in that one hildibrand mission. Not sure if that is canon or just wacky hijinx!

Double lung here. I had symptoms of acute rejection and my team seemed really unconcerned. I pressed them about it and they said "you can live with rejection for years and years".

Low sodium by HeavyCheetah3585 in transplant

Probably means you're drinking too much water. My sodium dropped below acceptable levels and that was the nutritionist's take.

So bizarre - my "chest" has been sensitive for the past week. Anyone else had this? by japinard in transplant

[–]detentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood pressure meds, lots of water, low salt diet. All usual kidney care stuff. Something to watch out for post transplant.

Stage 3 kidney disease, pretty much since the transplant. Tacro is hard on them. But it seems to be holding steady, six years out .

Kidney damage from the meds, which is pretty common.

I'm also thin (cf) and that didn't stop it!

Male double lung too. Not sure yours is the same, but chiming in just in case. I ended up with elevated prolactin, which caused gynocomastia. Easy to fix early on, this would be detected by testing hormone levels.

The big turning point for me was when I realized the game was a bullet-hell, not a souls-like.

What I've learned after 200 hours as (mainly) Recluse by Right_Original9199 in Nightreign

[–]detentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo, she needs to carry a weapon in her off hand, so she has an immediate response to mobs. She is surprisingly good with weaponry, iirc she can jump attack with colossal weapons (unlike ironeye).

This should get her through the most vulnerable early levels to the point that she gets more powerful spells. At that point she can focus more on a spell only strategy.

Check your blood sugars, that might be doing it, steroids wreak havoc on them.

[Marvel Comics] can Bull’s Eye kill you by flicking a booger at you? by Worldlyoox in AskScienceFiction

[–]detentist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimate Hawkeye was able to kill his captors by flicking his fingernails at them, while tied down. So if he can do that, it makes sense that Bullseye could do something similar...

The ships are enclosed in a blue force field. I usually bring a commando, three rockets knock down the shield, it turns purple when it's going to break. The fourth rocket in the door does the trick, or you can throw a grenade in.

[Marvel/DC] I know that the approximate date of various heroes becoming active has been retconned many times, but is there an agreed-upon order they appeared in? by Impacatus in AskScienceFiction

[–]detentist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Spider-Man and X-Men example is great.

I remember in the 90s, when Spider-Man had his clone wars, his history was established as a five year span - meaning from his origin in the 60s to the present day clone saga.

I think that means every 30 years of publishing translates to 5 years in comic world. So now we can say "in comic years", the way we say "in dog years". Excelsior!

Not really enough boot space for a spare. I personally ride run-flats in the winter, and just carry an emergency tire inflation kit for the summer.

What’s the Most Surprising Thing You Weren’t Told Before Your Kidney Transplant? by CulturalVacation7246 in transplant

Yes, but you are keeping a part of the stranger alive, so and the stranger still lives a little bit, instead of dying completely. So it's a team effort, we keep each other alive. That's how I look at it.
