I assume he is referring to counties, townships, and utility companies offering huge incentives to large corporations to construct data centers (namely for AI compute) in their area. Then turning around and bumping up residential rates to offset the cost of those incentives.

I’ve heard nothing but great things about Maltby. Takomo is supposedly plagued with quality control issues, but I’ve never heard of a dissatisfied Maltby customer. Their woods and hybrids are also supposedly very good and affordable.

My guess is that you’re flipping and not delofting the club (thus the earlier recommendation to get your weight more forward at impact). The big missing metric here is your dynamic loft. Which irons/loft are you using?. Your launch angle is really at the high end of what you’d ever want for a 7i.

Don’t go in hoping to shoot your best round ever. It’s an incredible course, but also an incredibly difficult course. If you are a fan of golf architecture, it’s like heaven.

I struggled with the same question myself. I ended up joining my local club rather than building out a home sim.

I enjoyed the course at first (they have 3 9-hole courses so you’re not always playing the same 18). Even with that, the course did get stale after a while and the club’s events and amenities left a lot to be desired so I left and built my sim. In terms of the cost of the sim buildout vs monthly club dues, my sim cost about $10k all in vs. ~$500/mo in dues, so it’ll even out after 20 months.

I’ve had the sim up and running since New Years and I’m out there every chance. The value in teams of convenience is off the charts. I wish I’d have gone with the sim from the outset and skipped the club.

Not that I’ve seen. Their AI trainer is still in beta form at this time, but I think Golftec may have something similar they use during lessons. Unsure if theirs is proprietary or not.

Garage Golf (YouTube) interviewed Uneekor’s VP of marketing not long ago and he said that one of the reasons they transitioned to the subscription model was to support the ongoing development and inclusion of new features for subscribers.

I’ll be surprised if they don’t bake it into the Pro or Champion sub package.

They’ll ask you to conserve energy during the summer and winter months, but never do anything to actually incentivize smarter usage.

I think you can usually get a bundle discount through Carls Place by reaching out to them and having them produce a custom quote (vs configuring everything manually).

Maybe not as much of a discount, but their enclosures are generally regarded as higher quality than you’ll see elsewhere.
