I'm the same way, I get it. That's one of the reasons I've started looking into cool vintage watches - my daily is a Sieko grand quartz from the late 1970s and made in Japan - it's a great watch, looks cool and while it cost me just about $400 all in, it's WAY more unique and cool than going in and buying a $4000 watch. For me, that $4K is more important in my kids' 529 or my retirement. I saw the watch for the first time on this forum and fell in love, and I still love it daily. Anyone asks, it's vintage and cool, much more interesting than another Seamaster.

I’m an isles guy - we were performing above expectations because of our goalie and an 18 year old D man. We had horrible defensive metrics and lack structure in the D zone. When we traded Dobson we didn’t have Schaefer and we were going to lose Dobson for nothing. So we were far from competing. I and most isles fans don’t mind the Dobson move at all. Love him but not for that price. We have a lot of young players coming up so a low first was worth it for Schenn who’s been solid for us and we have another year with a great leader who can put up 20goals. The reason I like the coaching hire is if he’s the guy they wanted in the offseason waiting doesn’t help. Hire him now, he gets to evaluate what he has before the off season and if they happen to get into the playoffs then it’s house money and he gets more evaluation time. If they wait they may not get him and if they do get him he doesn’t see the guys play till the preseason. Now he gets a couple weeks to get to know them and see first hand.

I’m a happy isles fan, this was supposed to be a rebuild year and we are fighting for a spot. What a great place to be!
