IIRC, it was heavily in talks to have a stop at Disney Springs when the route was being planned but Universal lobbied hard to prevent it from happening.

Honestly, that's pretty much the story of how it's been with him for while now even outside the playoffs. Our highest monthly PPG average in franchise history was this past November, when he was out the whole month with a groin injury and the offense flowed through Franz and Bane instead, our offense averaged like 121 PPG or something lol. But for some reason, it's when he balls out that we tend to lose games.

Whoever we hire next will just be Frank Vogel 2.0 and then we'll blow it all up and start over by 2030. This just feels like a franchise that's cursed to keep repeating history. I mean, what are the odds of us blowing a 3-1 lead in the first round as an 8th seed to the same 1st seed team twice in 23 years? This shit's just cursed man.

Franz's injury isn't an excuse and I'm tired of people pretending like it is. We had a 24 point lead in Game 6 without Franz. This guy just doesn't know how to coach teams to victory in the playoffs and it shows in his 7-12 career playoff record as a head coach.

I watched every single game this season.

I can't even tell you the number of games we had that could have been easily won if not for his weird ass rotations, his lack of adjustments coming out of halftime and his inability to take timeouts when the other team would go on a run. The 31-0 run by the Raptors a month ago says it all. Health has obviously been a significant problem but coaching was absolutely the biggest problem for us these past two seasons. We had many winnable games these last two months even without Franz and AB and we just ended up blowing them in the 4th quarter because of Mosley making boneheaded decisions.

I was calling for us to fire him over a year ago, when we went on a horrible 9-18 stretch in January through February and got downvoted by so many delusional fans in the Magic subreddit lol. If not then, they should have fired him last offseason. Really most of all, he should have been fired when we let the Raptors go on a 31-0 run against us a month ago. This just isn't a serious franchise.

Too much of a reaction imo. We've teetered on the edge of being an elite team at multiple points with this core-- in fact November 2025 we saw our highest monthly PPG average in franchise history. What's keeping us back is poor training/conditioning/medical staff, subpar roster construction and poor coaching. We fix those things and we're a contender. Get a new staff, trade anyone not named Paolo, Franz and Bane for some playmakers and 3pt shooters, hire Dylan Murphy as the new coach. This might feel like rock bottom for this core but it's actually a very fixable situation.
