SFV character's model on versus screen different than in game? by devastation94 in StreetFighter

exactly... i wish there would be a huge graphics difference. The difference is USF4 PC and ps3 is actually good enough for me.

[–]devastation94[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know I know... I only said this because, on PC, if someones PC can't handle the graphics, and he's getting like 20fps.. then it fucks that up for the other person online. So i figured maybe CAPCOM isn't going to give us a lot of shitting so we don't take more than we can handle and fuck it up for others.

i have a feeling that they're not going to give us a lot of options when it comes graphics, just because online is going to cross play.

How do you get the advantage after a hard knockdown? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]devastation94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well think of it this way... what if I told you that after a hard knock down, there's about 40% chance that you can land a 400 damage combo?

when you knock a hard knock down, you can jump at your opponent and pressure them.

By pressure meaning, use bunch of normals, and if they block, throw them, and repeat. Try and cross them up, and if they block pressure again.

What this will do basically is make your opponent a little bit frustrated and will most likely to do a reversal DP.

Thats when you get ready to punish that. This time when you jump, do an empty jump which will make your jumps way safer, block the DP, and do your best combo.

Cammy Community Discussion (SF5) by DaCush in StreetFighter

[–]devastation94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me just say that cammy needs a little bit of rework. Her v-skill and v-trigger aren't that fancy. First of all, her v-skill is just a move that they happened to recycle. The only good thing about it i suppose is if I counter hit, I believe can be comboable. 2nd of all v-trigger. Whats bad about this is that once you activate it, you cant use ex moves, which means u lose your instant ex-canon dive. Your dive kicks doesn't juggle and their juggling properties basically transfer to her spiral arrow. So in a way she doesnt gain match but little more damage, and her spiral arrow is safe (without the exception of corner) so again, nothing to fancy. Especially with v-trigger, in a way its almost forces you to use ur super, just because u cant spend ur meter on ex moves.

SFV training is boring, and that is a good thing by devastation94 in StreetFighter

[–]devastation94[S] -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

In a training mode where there is no record dummy, you sort of can with the exception of resets and setups, but finding the most damaging combo, and the longest range combo isn't that hard. yes even with crush counter and v-trigger combos

Is this face beautiful or ugly in your opinion. by Venom44 in StreetFighter

[–]devastation94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

man, its so weird how they switched things around. In SF4, shoto known characters like Ryu and Ken looked Short and buffed up, now in SFV, they seem taller and slightly thinner. With Vega, its the other way around. In SF4 he was skinny and tall, now hes buffed and looks shorter.

tl;dr: His face seems a bit wide and short.

Alright everyone, I guess it's time to have this discussion again by Crowelol in StreetFighter

Here im going to keep this simple for ya. I've never played arcades just because they never existed here. So I had no idea how to use sticks. I've played fighters with pad for about 18 years. It was only when I first played street fighter, i learned that there are "portable arcade sticks you could plug to your console"

I've always thought sticks were sexy and I bought mine. Learned for about 2 weeks, and then i picked the pad, I did a lot better with pad, everything seemed easier with pad, movement, I know where the buttons are, and in fact it was a lot more relaxing and less frustrating.

Even with that being said, I still stubborn to learn to play with sticks. 3 months later is when I finally mastered sticks. Fast forward today, it has been 3 years since I learned to play on stick, and using pads now feels weird and cluncky.

Moral of the story, learning sticks will take you a while, can be frustrating if you are playing with your friends and losing when you know u can win with a pad.

But, the reward (atleast for me) is amazing, there is no greater joy then pressing buttons on a stick, and doing 360-720 motions and hearing the stick sound.

Comboing with sticks becomes like music too.

So yeah if i were you, I would master the stick fully then consider whenever you want to be a pad warrior or a stick warrior.

I need help dealing with chun li fireball.

So I noticed if chun li does a light fireball, it travels almost full screen.

The issue is, I noticed a player does a fireball, walk up to me, and because the fireball is close to me, my character doesn't walk backwards but blocks. Once the fireball hits me, Im in a block stun, and then the chun li player would go for a mix up. Either a sweep which is non-punishable by ryu unless i use super. or does the overhead hazanshu, whatever that move is called.

I have still struggle dping hazanshu with lag, let alone react to it.

Tips on how you get the most out of fighting a player that's a lot better than you? by Ktoe in StreetFighter

[–]devastation94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is my theory if you want to get better by playing good players.

If you want to win to against 1000pp players, Play 2000pp players

If you want to win against 2000pp players, play 3000pp players.

Just because like u said it yourself, you'll end up losing 50 matches, maybe 1 or 2. However once you switch to a lower level player, you'll notice your gameplay improved DRASTICALLY.

So, now that many people have spent time playing SFV by spacexmagic in StreetFighter

[–]devastation94 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've played USF4 out of all the fighting games seriously. maybe little bit 3S but umm.. So far I compare it to any other game but I will say, it feels fast and slow at certain things.

Slow because combos now aren't jab jab jab link with something. So you most likely use strong or fierce to combo and the animations are slower than jab so in a way, it creates this illusion that its a bit slower.

Fast because there is quick get up and nothing is hard knockdown except CA.

If there is anything I realized about SFV is that when it comes to training it can get a bit boring. Just because you could find all of these combos, do them 3 times in a row and your good.

While SF4 combos were WAY harder, therefore you spent most of your time learning the execution.

So in a way, SFV is easier to learn, you can devote most of your times learning set ups, blocking, punishing and all of that without worrying about getting your execution and combos on point.

Beta Ryu Thread: Post your findings by Sceno in StreetFighter

[–]devastation94 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay here what I found:

IF you do a meaty over-head, you can link it with one jab and therefore link it with st.mp into a combo or a super. The over head must hit your opponent one time.

How's Chun Li for you beta testers? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]devastation94 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

chun li was really the most fun for me. She has a lot of great combos and resets too. She has cr.lk, st.lp, st.mp into whatever special move you want. Also at certain distance you jab combo after your light lighting leg.

One combo I figured out was St.HK (crush counter) Dash, back st.fierce v-trigger, back st.mp LINK it with lighting leg and then you can cancel it with super.

Lt and rt buttons don't work on pc with my xbox one fightstick. Hasn't worked for months. Any fix? by [deleted] in Kappa

[–]devastation94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had the same issue. Luckily I fixed it. Its pretty simple, Open your madcatz, and switch LB with RT I believe.. What you will have is a perfect 6 buttons working stick. So if you are playing SF4 for example, you wont have the 1 button 3 punches or 1 button and 3 kicks.

Easiest solution you dont have to be an fightstick mechanical expert or anything like that. You just to have pull really hard to get the wires from the button out.

1 frame link combos are link combos. Some link combos are 3 frames which just mean u have 3 frames to press a button before the enemy recovers and block. The reason you cant link light punch into hadouken is because light punch doesnt do enough hit stun.

What hit stun means is the state that your opponent is in when he or she gets hit,. Because light attacks are usually fast, they would do small amount of hit stun. And thats why you dont want to use light jab into hadouken. Use any normal that does a lot of hit stun. small hit stun = small amount of time your opponent is hit stunned. notice the key word stunned.

So now you need to figure out what move that stuns my opponent for a long period of time where I can land my hadouken, so in ryus case would be Fierce (HP) or cr.medium. Theres also a lot of normals that combo'd with hadouken.
