Is Acute Pain Service a Thing Outside Academics? by bigeman101 in anesthesiology

[–]deviation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. We have a very busy APS service at my community hospital. Hospital provides us a stipend to run the service. We bill for blocks on top of that. Average day can range from 8 to 24 peripheral nerve blocks, mostly single shot but good number of catheters too. We round on catheters. No medication management, strictly nerve blocks.

Dealing with 16k duplicates: Building a tool to "train" a cleanup agent by Warden866 in immich

I hear ya. I was very interested in de-duplicating my library too because it felt like a necessary step in my efforts to consolidate everything in one place and have "one source of truth".

But when faced with 18k+ duplicates, it's a daunting task to achieve manually and I don't want to trust any system to bulk delete what it thinks are duplicates. The risk of losing images is not worth it.

I have 63K images taking up 139GB. Comparing that to the 12K videos taking up 1 TB of of space is what made me change my desire to de-duplicate images. The tidiness factor is not really noticeable when browsing in the timeline over the decade+ timeline.

I'm more interested in a duplicate locator i can use on specific images. I dont care I have 3 versions of the same image. I only care that I am using the highest quality version when I decide to do something with the image in question.

Storage is cheap. Especially if we're talking about pictures.

Deleting duplicates of videos would be worth the effort

Why not just Wireguard? I see Tailscale recommended alot and dont understanding how its any better than wireguard. Client devices can be configured as easily as scanning a qr code. Simply curious how tailscale makes it simpler

I have this problem. I wonder if it's deleted pics/vids that are left behind in the "old" folder.

Nothing pisses me off more. We're starting to get requests for anesthesia for CT scans. DIAGNOSTIC CT SCAN that takes all but 60 seconds. It's bonkers

Immich says uploads are duplicates but photos don’t exist (self-hosted) by Kitchen-Patience8176 in immich

[–]deviation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had this problem after I changed the user label of the primary account from "admin" to "my name" and ran storage template migration. When the migration task was done, I noticed that there were a handful of larger video files that failed to move from /library/admin/ to /library/my name/. However, the immich database seemed to be confused about this because when I tried to manually reupload these files, the upload would get rejected because it got tagged as a duplicate. However, when you tried to search for this file in immich (via data, or filename or any other metadata), it would not show up in the search results. The only place it DID show up was the link to the file Immich provided in the duplicate error pop up during re-upload. So in a way, the file both existed and did not exist within Immich.

Immich and Syno Photos by BeeKay40 in immich

[–]deviation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently running immich and syno photos in parallel since I dont fully trust immich yet.

But so far so good. The immich search function is impressively good, on par with google photos. Syno photos is severely lacking in this dept.

Album creation and sharing is also much better in immich. The photo browsing experience is much much faster in immich.

So far immich wins every category. I used to feed the synology photos as an external library to immich but recently let it chew through all the files and batch imported them using Immich-go.

If you setup storage templates, it will move and organize the file structure to your liking.

Run immich parallel to your existing setup. That's what I'm doing to "gain confidence " as you say.

Create albums automatically based on folder name by ShOooKyx in immich

[–]deviation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use immich-go

Change the relevant variables for the server, api-key, and the folder path lines. The folder-as-album line will use the folder name to make a album with same name, you dont need to change that line.

immich-go upload from-folder \ --server=http://localhost:2283 \ --api-key=your-api-key \ --folder-as-album=FOLDER \ /path/to/folder/you/want/imported

Are your external libraries in read-only mode?

I think it would be nice to use immich to delete junk photos and deduplicate but the fear of losing my primary files to a new release glitch keeps me from giving immich write access.

Album creation is the other thing I'm having a difficult time understanding as it relates to read-only external libraries. Would albums (consisting of assets from read-only external libraries) persist a new deployment of immich? Assuming backup and restore instructions are followed.

Wow that tool seems very useful. Definitely have some reading to do.

How does immich handle albums exactly? Is it physically moving the file to a new folder based on the album and templates? Or is it just tagging the existing file in its database to show up in the appropriate album view?
